Wii can play all Gamecube games and has VC games from the NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Turbografx, and now there is Wii Ware.

Since the library is more expansive I never really understand why people say GC>Wii. Wii plays GC games, Gamecube doesn't play Wii games.

If you say 'Wii games are worse than Gamecube games' thats potentially logical.

What it really boils down too is that some people are pissed at Nintendo's change in direction, even though its essentially an attempt to recreate the NES with lessons learned from PS2. 

Well keep the Wii and play GC games on it, then when a Wii game that you want comes out you can play it too

Wow... wait a minute. Gamecube is still my favorite system ever. It has a lot of good games. It's the system I have more games, more than 100. For example, all multiplatform games run a lot better on the Gamecube than in the PS2 (like Viewtiful Joe in Gamecube runs at 60fps, and 30fps and less detail in the PS2... or any Madden or FIFA and and every other multi-platform game).

And it have a lot of exclusive games: Metroid Prime 1 (favorite game ever), Metroid Prime 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Paper Mario, Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Strikers, The Legend of Zelda Windwaker, The Legend of Zelda Four Swords, Luigi's Mansion, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, F-Zero, Batalion Wars, Wave Race, Pikmin 1 and 2, Fire Emblem, Baten Kaitos 1 and 2, Eternal Darkness, Geist, Resident Evil 1, Crystal Chronicles, Rogue Squadron II and III, Tales of Symphonia, etc.

Sure, it doesn't have a lot of games like the PS2, but it has an extremely good line up.

You can play PS3 or X360, all you gotta do is choose. 

Each one has it own features.
