it was nothing new.

Nobody said it is. But contrary to believe good scores have nothing to do with being "new" but with being good. I mean Galaxy got similar scores and it's even more of an evolutionary game. And GTA4 is an awesome game. Not the best I have played this gen but awesome nonetheless.

This is why I like the 5 star system. It doesn't matter what's on top. If it's 5 stars, it's awesome.

.

That would be fine if all sites would take this, but it still wouldn't affect gamerankings. As you may have seen, they convert scores to numbers. Gamespy for instanceuses a 5 star ranking - and 5 stars get listed as a 10 on GR/MC.

Even worse, when a site does not give numbers, they will give one on the basis of what the general feeling of the reviewer is.

I wasn't referring to those sites. I was replying to the first post in this train, which just discussed the GTA IV is awesome no matter the scores, and I observed that is what 5 star systems do. The best are awesome, you don't need to rank them.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

So much negativity in this thread.

Can't we just be happy that Zelda re-conquered the number 1 spot from GTA4?

who cares anymore? This debacle is ridiculous.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Cubed3 is still at 99%, but it's back up to 32 reviews.

My consoles and the fates they suffered:

Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)

A more detailed history appears on my profile.

... This is getting really annoying ... i wish they would just leave older games reviews alone.

The reviews counted was dropped from 32 to 31.

There was also an increase in the number of garbage websites accepted as eligable sitesto effect reviews. Really who ever heard of FragLand, AtomicGamer, Lawrence. It's compete bs accepting these sites as sites like IGN.

I completely agree with you ssj12. While metacritic is alot worse at including no name/garbage websites, both are equally guilty of it and personally I believe they should have site users to vote on a top 20 reviews sites and only their reviews can effect the score. That'd fix the issue of current games with 50+ reviews competing with 10 year old games with ~30 reviews and the issue of nintendo games always having way more reviews than the other two platforms (which makes it all the more amazing that SMG is 4th, despite the massive 70 review count).

I think each site is weighted diffrently.

see the average of the reviews for Balls of fury is 24 but they are listed as 19

lol. I don't care anymore... X_X But reviewing 10 year old games is REALLY stupid.

No it's not. As long as the game exists, it can be reviewed. Why not? There is no time limit. It's not practical, but it's not stupid.

By the way, Ocarina of Time is back to 2nd place... For now...

Why do you guys care about the scores on Game Rankings? It should only matter how you feel about the game. Not what other people think.
