i have a question since everyone talking about wii software sales i just want to know can anyone name one ps3 third party exclusive game that sold a million copies i just want to know..

Best 3rd party exclusive on PS3 is Ridge Racer 7 at 630,000.

Which is what Dragon Quest Swords is at ironically.

Name me three big budget third party games actually released on Wii.

What does budget have to do with it? SE isn't known for low budget games yet "The World Ends With You" isn't selling that great considering it is on a handheld with a 70+ million userbase.

RE4, Guitar Hero and soon to be Rock Band. Satisfied?

RE4 sold decent due to a $29.99 price tag and Guitar Hero III due to the fact that it is a casual game.

Wow all ports. Nice list there. Are you sure those are big budget being ports and all.?

So I guess your saying Wii only recieves 3rd party ports? Even more incentive for a 3rd party dev to not release exclusively with their large budget games.

You are aware this thread is going very off topic right?

No. He's saying you are applying faulty logic to draw your conclusion on the basis of your point. After all PS3 does have RPGs, 4 of them. None of them have sold. Yet you don't apply the same logic to it.

He's countering your point, not going off topic because you are making a false claim based on bad logic.

No faulty logic. My original point is that Kingdom Hearts sold 10Million copies on the Playstation brand and it is not a casual game and non casual games that are not 1st party Nintendo titles just don't sell the way they would on the PS3 and/or 360.

It has been that way for years now.

You do know that was when nintendo consoles were losing, and the only people buying them were fanboys. It's not that 3rd party didn't sell on them consoles, its that these consoles didn't get 3rd party games.

The best selling is this http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=1902 and no is million seller =)

Interesting, I posed a question related to KH after Euph mentioned wanting to get back on topic (KH) and instead of responding to me Euph kept on responding to the off-topic points of other posters.

Did you simply miss my post or are you done with the discussion we were having?

Sure it is, afterall RPGS don't sell on the PS3.

That statment uses the same level of scrutiney that you use for your evidence. Hence the flaw in your logic.

There are RPGS on the PS3. They've all sold like crap. Your defense to that... if you actually tried to defend it i imagine would be...

"But none of them are big budget."

Well aside from Oblivion.

Of which the same thing could be argued for Wii 3rd party core games.

I would give more but this is not what this topic is about.

Budget has everything to do with it. Where else are they going to get teh money to advertise the game?

And SE is known for low budget game. Just look at their PSP library, all of those rehashes would have been bombs if they hadn't been low budget, outsourced rehashes. And The World En with You is selling faily well. I don't know about you but I don't consider 1 Million to be the single threshold of success for all games. Not every game has a budget where 1 million units sold would be the only way to make some kind of profit.

Also, all of those games you listd are ports, and two of them will most likelyend up with 2+ million lifetime sales. YourGuitar Hero excuse...ugh. You have one for everything.

If you believe GH III is harcore then you are wrong. I am making no excuses. As I stated more than once already I have zero problems with aWii release of KH III, just I personally feel an exclusive Wii release would be the wrong choice.

Since when has SE been known for low budget games either?

Star Ocean, Final Fantasy, The World Ends With You, Dragon Quest, Mana Series, Front Mission, Radiata Stories, etc... are not exactly low budget.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Oh, my god.... in the last 10 minutes we went from having a nice, great debate about the game to another outdated 'Third Party games don't sell on Wii'thread....

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

No this is the point we are making. You said 3rd partyhardcore games don't sell on the wii.

We said that is because all of them are low budget.

SO that means since there is no high budget games to compare we don't know how it would sell on the wii.

Then your point has no basis in reality. KH selling 10 million PS2 has no relevance because we are in a new generation where Sony's dominance is but a history lesson. Your "non casual 3rd party games don't sell) argument has been crushed repeatedly and your solution was to barrel into offtopic arguments since you didn't have one anymore.

KH sold 10 Million on the PS brand when it was kicking ass in the install base race and had by far the largest number of  US and JP sales.  You can't just strip out the bit you like and ignore the rest.  There were reasons it was on that system last generation.

By your logic FF never would have moved to the Sony brand because it had already sold millions on Nintendo.

In any case check your software numbers again, the Wii is selling more 3rd Party software than the PS3 is.
