Thanks, I neaded that info!

Rygar: The Battle of Argus, Fatal Frame 4, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Fragile and Conduit is some games that I'm interested in plus Ultimate Alliance 2 and probably other games. And a new Kid Icarus would be great if it is in the making and I know when these games has come out, others will follow. But I'm still worried about the future (but still hopeful) and I don't want to wait for games I want to play until next year before they reach Europe, like it is sometimes.

My girlfriend is playing more with the Wii then I do for the moment, but I like to watch her play Twilight Princess, Galaxy and Zack & Wiki. We both will play Wii Fit and there is still some descent games out that I might buy to have som fun in the summer, but nothing my soul is screming after.

Happy to help. And you've got a fine list there indeed, especially Fatal Frame (I'm a sucker for those games). Still, no interest in WiiWare? I think you'd enjoy some of their releases, and I believe they're ariving in Europe shortly after they do here in the U.S. Personally, I can't wait to get my claws on World of Goo, or Gyrostarr...

@Rol: Yes it does. Many thanks.

I'm a long time Nintendo fan, and Wii lover (haha,) but latley its been bugging me about Nintendo's third party support. Yes, we can all look at charts and say "Oh, Nintendo has great third party support," but we're just lying to ourselves. 90% of games on Nintendo consoles that are big sellers are Nintendo games. We have slight help from Capcom and what not, but we need more.

Nintendo needs to grab in more kinds of gamers, and the first step is to get current-gen graphics. What are your thoughts?

I think your post is silly. I don't care to get banned for going into specifics.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

@ grammar and readable English, it's like my man Stan Van Gundy says, "When is a playoff game not a must-win?" If you're trying to communicate with others the majority of the burden is on you to get the message across. Unfortunately, internet forums are filled with laziness with regards to healthy communication.

@topic, none of this is Nintendo's fault. Nintendo is leading by example and they are releasing graphically pleasing, core-targeted (along with casual-targeted), fun, high quality games. What else can they do but start buying/paying third parties to make games for the Wii.

If somebody can explain to me why it's Nintendo's fault, I'm willing to listen. But as of now people need to stop blaming Nintendo. They are doing they job and they are doing it with the same or better quality they always have. I'm referring specifically to the Wii, but at the same time Nintendo in general.

kingofwale this applies to you, why are you blaming Nintendo for what third parties do?

I don't blame Nintendo for it. What I'm trying to say is.. if you are whinning about the current situation, get PS360, because the situation is not going to change, it's been happening for YEARS on DS, and now it's on the Wii.

Having said that, I do think Nintendo has certain responsibility to protect their owner. Considering most of them are casual fans who don't use video game reviews to have an idea about the games they are about to buy. Nintendo had the kind of "seal of approval" in place before. By removing that, they are almost asking for crappy games to come on.

I haven't found anyone that complains about the Nintendo DS library, it is stacked high with great games, as it should it has a 70mil install base.

The Nintendo Seal of Quality, was primarily a marketing gimmick, and in my memory given out mostly to 2nd parties and high profile third parties (Squaresoft). My argument for it's dissappearence is that it's not necessary at this point. I've heard that getting game published on the N64 and GameCube was restrictive. Nintendo is dealing with two high install base consoles at the moment. They have essentially opened the floodgates to developers to do what they please. This has some undesirable side effects such as a mountain of shovelware (like you said kingofwale they are essentially asking for crappy games). Though atop that mountain is a snowy peak of great games. As the mountain grows so does the peak. Like I posted previously, patience is necessary, but there will be no lack of great 3rd party games in years to come.

Do you own a DS Gling? Or have you looked a the DS library of late? DS has great AAA games, with Zelda HG and The World ends with you, but what you don't see, is 20 or so garbage games that release on to that platform.

With Nitendo's track record, it isn't a bad idea to even release a Seal of Quality again. At least it will be able to help their customers distinguish Nintendogs from the 1000 other crappy imitations out there.

While I'll admit that it'd be nice to not have to slog through so much crud when looking for the good DS games, I don't think the Seal of Quality would be at all productive for Nintendo. It was precisely those restrictions that caused resentment amongst third-parties, and Sony's brilliant maneuver in allowing publishers to sell whatever games they wanted is arguably a large part of their success. For Nintendo to go back to the old, restrictive days would do them more harm than good.

Besides, not all shovelware producers are inherently bad: Majesco, a shovelware maker if ever there was one, recently made the Cooking Mama games that a lot of people enjoy. For us, they're also releasing Blast Works, which EGM has just rated in the "A" range. (I know, I was shocked too.) Besides, look at it this way. WayForward, a company that's been bringing us stuff like "Sabrina: The Animated Series" for twenty years recently developed a little DS game called "Contra 4". 10,000 monkeys with typewriters and all that, right?

Wasn´t the 'seal of quality' one of the reasons 3rd parties gave Nintendo the middle finger during the SNES---N64 transition?...If it was, Then it wouldn´t be a good idea to bring it back.

My brother owns a DS, I play it often and buy games for it. In my previous post I said that Nintendo appears willing to accept this situation. 10% great games 90% shovelware, that sounds about right, maybe 15/85.

I agree, a new Seal of Quality wouldn't be a bad idea. Especially considering they're willing to accept so much shovelware.  A seal of quality to expose great games would be very helpful to gamers.

Besides, the best selling system always gets tons of shovelware...sadly,it´s the reality in this industry.

Thanks. I forgot to add Wii Ware and maybe Monster Hunter 3. Wii Ware: Alien Crush, Animales de la Muerte, Dr. Mario & Bacteria Extermination and Last Flight. Maybe Gyrostarr and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King.

I don't know much about Fatal Frame series, but something draws me in about it.

How do the bad titles hurt the good ones again? Would you rather have 100 good games and 100 bad ones or just 10 good games? The bigger your install base, the more good games and more crap games you will get. This has nothing to do with Nintendo. Look at the PS2 for an great example.

Why would a gamer have to pay attention to all the shovelware that is released for a system? You just pick out the good titles and play them.

You probably don't know it, but there were lots of games in the NES and SNES days that had the Seal of Quality on it, but were crappy. The only thing this seal really showed was that the game was officially licensed by Nintendo and that it didn't have bugs that made the game totally unplayable.

Also, Nintendo's customer's aren't that stupid as you think. They know that Nintendogs is called Nintendogs, they won't buy Dogz or anything else instead. People can read for god's sake.

Question: Why do you care so much about what Nintendo is doing? We (the regular members of this forum) know that you don't own a Wii or a DS and you don't plan to buy either of them. So what's worrying you so much?

Quoted For Truth.

@KingofWale

You just scrolled off another one of your fanboy talking points.

Once again, I will never understand why you spend your time on this forum flaming the Wii instead of championing your PS3 or PSP.

That is why most people on this forum don't respect your posts. You have a following in the Sony fanboy camp, yet you could have the intelligence to become a serious and opinionated poster if you would only stop blindly arguing against everything Wii and DS everytime the opportunity presents itself.
