For the history, 3ds oot remake sold 164k IN First week and 3ds sales jumped from 24k to 40k.
It is simple, japan is handheld land.
NS2 price is now exorbitant for that audience.
Perhaps NS2 lite may arrive earlier than expected or pokemon W&W  will take charge of doing the heavy lifting next year.

Does anyone know if there is some shortage of Switch 2 in Japan to restock for Zelda? I remember Nintendo withhelds consoles before the launch of Bananza to allow stock when it launched. I found those sales very low for what it should've been.

Next week will be compared to a week that NS2 had sold 90k, up by 66k week over week! Suspense, 2025 vs 2026 fight is getting tighter and tighter.

Nintendo indeed can withold sotck before an important game & bundle launch ( they did it for the week in which i referred to for instance) but for the week before i assume, not for 4-5 consecutive weeks.

I think these results for FFResonance should serve as strong evidence that yeah, FFVII Revelation release day-and-date on PS and Nintendo platforms will be big. Though it will be the third entry of a trilogy, which means less accessibility and therefore potentially lower sales compared to Remake & Rebirth…

2D Final Fantasy sales (and small budget games in general) scale better with Nintendo's platforms. I'd be shocked if FF7 Revelation shows a similar split.

Revelation's platform split should be more in line with Crisis Core Reunion (released simultaneously on PS4, PS5, and Switch 1). But the PS5 version may be more limited by physical shipments relative to demand. Onimusha Way of the Sword for instance sold 80-100% of the initial shipments on PS5 vs 60-80% on Switch 2 iirc.

I expect combined sales to decline vs Rebirth, but it would be awesome if the trilogy's conclusion boosts sales. It's an amazing trilogy if Remake and Rebirth are anything to go by.

I'm glad to see that FFR debuted well on Switch 2, but damn, those Nintendo hardware numbers are depressing this week. At least the PS5 did well for itself.

Nintendo better hope that the "choose your game bundle" launching on November 12th turns things around going forward.

Think its time for Nintendo to drop hardware prices, just bite the bullet and take a small loss on hardware. They havent had a good week since the price increase.

How often has the PS5 or PS4 had that small a sales gap with the Switch or Switch 2 when they were in their prime?

FF Resonance did well and the PS5 version holds its own.

NS2 and NSR both had really really really sad and disappointing sales. But FFR did fabulous

TBH I don’t know anyone who was planning to purchase a Switch 2 at the launch of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort lol, though I won’t deny that I was expecting at least somewhat of a bump. Perhaps people are waiting for the Zelda model? Though that is in extremely limited stock, so I’d be a bit surprised if that was the case, unless it really is just a matter of unprecedented demand overwhelming abundant supply.
