It will, temporarily. But a relatively faithful remake of a 30 year old game is not going to be what turns the tide for the Switch 2 by itself.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Switch Sports Resort ends up having really good legs. Super Mario Party or Clubhouse Games are examples of games who started modest but did well overtime (both did only around 5% of their lifetime physical sales in Japan on their launch week)

I feel like Nintendo need to start announcing and releasing the heavy hitters. We have pokemon coming next year so that should give sales a big boost. I think not releasing a new 3d mario at this point was a mistake. The switch 2 has a great library of games so far, but it is lacking in the big system sellers that the switch 1 had early in its life.

Think its time for Nintendo to drop hardware prices, just bite the bullet and take a small loss on hardware. They havent had a good week since the price increase.

Yeah thats pretty obvious. S2 was super popular in Japan right up until the price increase and it's been a weak system in Japan every since.

There's no way they are making the money back on HW that they are losing on SW from several tens of thousands of fewer people buying the system every single week.

While S2 wasn't doing all that well most months outside Japan due to lack of any must have games on the system, Nintendo dominates Japan so much that the Japanese just didn't care about the lack of games, but it is clear they very much cared about the price.

Does anyone know if there is some shortage of Switch 2 in Japan to restock for Zelda? I remember Nintendo withhelds consoles before the launch of Bananza to allow stock when it launched. I found those sales very low for what it should've been.

For the history, 3ds oot remake sold 164k IN First week and 3ds sales jumped from 24k to 40k.
It is simple, japan is handheld land.
NS2 price is now exorbitant for that audience.
Perhaps NS2 lite may arrive earlier than expected or pokemon W&W  will take charge of doing the heavy lifting next year.

Next week will be compared to a week that NS2 had sold 90k, up by 66k week over week! Suspense, 2025 vs 2026 fight is getting tighter and tighter.

Nintendo indeed can withold sotck before an important game & bundle launch ( they did it for the week in which i referred to for instance) but for the week before i assume, not for 4-5 consecutive weeks.

How did we all forget this? Screw oot bundle etc...

In the 12th of November, A Japan only NS2 is releasing with three downladble game of anyone's choice.
