I did think about adding a third poll option for "neither/not interested" but didn't want the thread to come across as negativity bait.

I'm going for the home console.
But I could see myself getting the portable down the line.

I mean, realistically, I’m not buying PS6 unless Sony really proves that they can start delivering exclusives that cater to my tastes. More Astro Bot, Ape Escape, and Sly Cooper. Nothing wrong with Uncharted and TLoU, it’s just not what my tastes are catered to.
Home console. I don't want a portable. I truly hope it's separate and they don't gimp the PS6 just so you can play it on some tiny screen.

Oh wow, a first time poster! Welcome, and thanks for sharing. :)
The price is supposed to be high, so I wonder if the portable version could be developed to provide a weaker but slightly more affordable alternative.
Either way, I don't think this is for me anymore. I'm happy with my PC.

Right now, for me, it’s looking like neither. I can’t justify the rumored price point, particularly when Sony’s first-party output continues on a downward trajectory and the majority of important third-party games are available elsewhere. Plus, the lack of physical media really turns me off.
I don’t want to be a part of the future Sony is selling.

They do need to have two SKUs with way different power levels if a portable is coming. The portable should be around PS5 (give or take) as a premium portable and at least PS5 Pro level when docked if it is a hybrid too. The traditional home console needs to be a clear leap above PS5 Pro. I know we're getting into diminishing returns and we're in a pricing/memory crisis now and in the future but a PS6 that is only moderately more powerful than PS5 Pro is a waste. If it takes them until 2030 or later to have a generational leap above PS5 and PS5 Pro so be it.

People should not assume a portable will be cheaper. I look at all the PC ones at the moment and holy shit is my first thought.

I suspect almost everything will be crossgen with PS5 anyway, so the handheld won't be "gimping" anything.
