As a retailer they do purchase in bulk, and are taking advantage of shortages to price gouge.

Hard to imagine they are getting ps5 pros in bulk. Lol. If that is what they are deciding to sell them for, i really cant blame them. I just checked ebay actually, and theyre selling these used consoles for a similar price. Its crazy that theyre that expensive, but i couldnt say gamestop is doing something bad by selling them for this price. Be mad about it, whatever. But this isnt scalping.

Retailers order en masse, now they're taking advantage of a shortage by price gouging their customers.

No matter what GameStop can not be allowed to get away with scalping. I find it odd that people aren't calling them out. Seems like the most anti consumer move ever.

I also feel that GS help destroy the physical game industry because while they do sometimes have sales, most often I find that I am able to get a better price on a digital store.

Case and point, I was looking into Octopath Traveler and they were selling it on sale for $29.99 on Switch/PS5... while the same week i got it on PSN for $9.99. I feel like retailers like GS bare some of the blame for the mass exodus from physical.

Yeah that's the thing, this isn't some broke individual struggling to makes ends meet by reselling their PS5 Pro, this is a big corporation taking advantage of a hardware shortage to price gouge its customers.

Exactly.

Companies getting into scalping, gross.
To think that $599 for a PS3 was once considered outrageous and unacceptable, now we have used consoles selling for more than twice that.

The $599 PS3 launched 20 years ago. That is equal to about $1100 to $1200 right now.

That's still less than what a pre-owned console costs now though, and while yes inflation is a reality, wages have not kept pace.

Hey y'all. Mightykeef made a skit about these used PS5 Pro prices, so I'm sharing it here because laughing is cheaper than buying one.
