Forums - Movies & TV - Actors You Miss, And What Roles You Best Remember Them For

Since we're in the month of Halloween, which was based on the Pagan observation of Samhain that honored the dead, I wanted to have a thread where we could share actors who are unfortunately no longer with us, and what roles we personally best remember them for.

I'd like to start this with someone I miss every day.

Robin Williams (The Genie in Aladdin):

Heath Ledger was so young when he passed, and his performance in The Dark Knight before his death was incredible.

Another actor I remember best for a Disney role, James Earl Jones (Mufasa in The Lion King):

All the biggest ones leading up to about the year 2000 or so. Seems like before then, a movie star was iconic. Legendary. Now, I'd have trouble naming more than a few, if that, and they aren't nearly as good. I really don't know why that is, either. I mean, logically speaking, humans should still be producing them, but for some reason we're not getting them on screen.

But it's definitely a thing.

What about someone you at least knew for voice acting?

Voice acting? I don't know. I never really paid much attention to that. Although if forced to think of someone now, ironically, it would also be actors that were iconic pre-2000 lol. As mentioned, James Earl Jones would be one. Another would be Tom Hanks. But I cared more about their full acting than their voice acting. It takes more talent to play the Joker on screen than it does to voice him, because you have to do it all, not just once thing.
