Less "revolutionised" and more "enshittified".

Endless mindless slop flooding the internet while power bills and electronics prices skyrocket, immense resources are wasted, and almost every aspect of society gets worse.

AI is a plague.

And sloppists/clank fuckers will defend it/ try and justify until there is no humanity left. Data Centers have a lot of copper and little security....just saying.

AI vibe coding is a disaster waiting to happen. Just look at what it did to the original Star Fox. Nothing but crashes and glitches. -_-

It's a problem when someone who doesn't know what they're doing does it. Coding suddenly becoming far more accessible will cause a lot more people to share things that are poorly made but more importantly it's also helping people who know what they're doing do things a lot faster than before so the latter will be making native PC ports of old games a lot quicker now.

Here's what I meant.

The devil comes at you in subtle ways, but it always gets it soul.

Yup. All the environmental damages and impact of people's jobs be damned.

Dangle this and some dlss in people's faces like a shiny new distraction. It's sadly working.

And they call me an extremist for wanting to blow up AI data centers.

AI data centres just shouldn't be built at all, they don't need to exist and are an obscene waste of resources that makes everything from power bills to consoles to phones more expensive, just to fuel the Epstein class's despicable wet dreams of being able to fire all their workers and make the other 98% of the human race live like serfs.

(snip)

I've got no idea if the person working on this has any technical expertise (especially for handling SuperFX code that has no comparable instructions in x86) but they are clearly presenting as an early WIP, not a finished product. Neither it is indicative of the quality of other released, finished builds.

What you're doing is mere cherry picking to confirm your bias. It would be the same thing as if I were to pick some posts in this thread and conclude VGChartz is just a bunch of hystrionic millenials who don't even fact check the claims they are parroting.

How exactly is stuff like this emulator enshittified? Professional coders have gotten a huge productivity boost that'll only get even bigger next year while amateurs and even people who don't know how to code at all can now create software. Having a problem with the technology as a whole is fair enough but that is such an obviously good use case of it that this sort of reaction is unreasonable.

Regular PC emulators that have been worked on for decades still have problems. If you want a bug-free authentic experience, you need to either play on a good FPGA core or use original hardware. FPGA cores can have bugs too but the nice thing about them is that once a core has been programmed to work right on one game it will work right for all games on said console. No more tweaking your emulator for individual games. No more writing code that is supposed to kill a bug in the 5th level of an obscure game. A well written FPGA core is bug free.

Almost all game consoles either have a good FPGA core which you can bootup on a mister system for as cheap as $200, or have a way to play infinite games on them via softmods or Optical Disk Emulators.

People that get hyped or like AI vibe coded emulators only like them because they require zero investment in proper equipment. And don't get me wrong here. AI has helped a lot in making good FPGA cores. But AI assisting an experienced coder in doing mundane routine tasks that would take years and AI just up and coding the entire thing on its own is different. For example: Hey AI! Can you play this game, find every instance where 1 = -1 and change it to 1=1? AI then finds 1000 examples of this individual bug and fixes them. Finding all 1000 examples for a human would take months or years. AI just did it in a few minutes. And it was a task that was so simple a 5 year old could have done it. It was a matter of time, not skill.

We need more Luigi Mangeones.
