Regular PC emulators that have been worked on for decades still have problems. If you want a bug-free authentic experience, you need to either play on a good FPGA core or use original hardware. FPGA cores can have bugs too but the nice thing about them is that once a core has been programmed to work right on one game it will work right for all games on said console. No more tweaking your emulator for individual games. No more writing code that is supposed to kill a bug in the 5th level of an obscure game. A well written FPGA core is bug free.

Almost all game consoles either have a good FPGA core which you can bootup on a mister system for as cheap as $200, or have a way to play infinite games on them via softmods or Optical Disk Emulators.

People that get hyped or like AI vibe coded emulators only like them because they require zero investment in proper equipment. And don't get me wrong here. AI has helped a lot in making good FPGA cores. But AI assisting an experienced coder in doing mundane routine tasks that would take years and AI just up and coding the entire thing on its own is different. For example: Hey AI! Can you play this game, find every instance where 1 = -1 and change it to 1=1? AI then finds 1000 examples of this individual bug and fixes them. Finding all 1000 examples for a human would take months or years. AI just did it in a few minutes. And it was a task that was so simple a 5 year old could have done it. It was a matter of time, not skill.
