ps: Big thanks to Duke Nukem for triggering my motion sickness—I simply can't play most FPS games (Cyberpunk, I really wish I could've loved you :().

Since you mentioned the sequel I just have to mention that I was a alpha-/play tester for the original Red Orchestra Ostfront. My name is even in the game credits :)

Was really tight with the early Tripwire team back in those days because it was more like a community project than a game company.

Sadly SIN wasn’t particularly good even back in 1998. 

Main thing I remember was that if you shoot female NPCs once in the torso you got to see a nipple.

lol. I bet that won't be a thing in the remastered version. I'd be shocked if it was, that's how much times have changed.

Anyways, my era is the 90s, up until the early 2000s...PC only. No, Goldeneye is not a good game. PC Only. My first ever FPS was Catacomb Abyss (precursor to Wolfenstein 3D). But yeah, some games and franchises I was into:

It was very soon after this that shooters got too realistic looking and gameplay just became war-based, aim down your sights, generic boringness. Obviously, I also like modern boomer shooters and the odd modern shooter, but very few.

Speaking of boomer shooters, I just started Sprawl Zero and it is fucking amazing, highly recommended to fans of early 2000s shooters.

The guns feel great, the power fantasy is amped up to 11, and the soundtrack slaps, and best of all, it's just $25 USD.

To be more serious. 

The USP of SIN in 1998 was that enemies/players had different hit zones (damage dealt depended on if you hit torso, legs, arms etc) this was something new that stood out among the other FPSs of the time. And that aspect was really cool when I played it back then, but the game in general was really “meh”, thatt’s why I don’t see the point of the remake, and this isn’t even the first remake of SIN it has been remade before.
