Forums - Gaming - Capcom Q1 FY2026 Best Selling Games

Breakdown of their game sales from this FY info:

PC (digital) - 60.4%
Console (digital) - 32.9%
Console (physical) - 6.7%

Meaning on console their games have a digital ratio of 83%.

Is this in unit sales? I read a few weeks ago that Capcom's console revenue dominates their Steam revenue 72% vs 28%.

Edit: Apparently, they're counting GKC as digital sales.

Yes it's unit sales. Don't think they've given any platform revenues in this release.

Here's hoping Onimusha continues their winning streak, as well as Veronica next year.

Capcom apparently also says the chances of a Pragmata sequel are "high": https://gonintendo.com/contents/63260-capcom-says-pragmata-sequel-chances-are-high-following-the-game-s-success

Monster Hunter Wilds getting destroyed by World and Rise is funny. But it seems like Capcom have conditioned many of their fans, particularly on PC, to buy their games dirt cheap. They're almost like CD Projekt Red these days when it comes to discounts. I'd like to know how much their games are generating.

Even the mediocre RE3R sells well due to heavy and frequent discounts. Personally I don't understand the Capcom craze. Their quality while significantly improved over their gen 7 era, doesn't match older eras imo. But I respect their productivity.

With how bad Wilds launched not just optimization, but also a lack of content it deserves to no longer sell. World, Rise and Generations Ultimate I would recommend way more.

Yeah in contrast to how successful most of their games have been in the last 9 years or so, Wilds is quite a black eye for Capcom. It had a huge launch, then promptly flatlined.

A lot of its design and execution really rubbed players the wrong way, from how aggressively it was streamlined to the how poorly it looked and ran.

A little harsh but I'd agree that it doesn't deserve to sell as well as World or Rise just based on the community reaction (I don't really care about Monster Hunter enough to play it. MH1 on PS2 is so far my first and last game in the series).

However another big reason why it isn't performing well is its price in the context of new Capcom. Capcom relies heavily on discounts to push their games, especially on PC. Hence the mediocre RE3R (I played the awful demo and read people's reception) is already ahead of RE9 by its second quarter! But their strategy generally works, as even older and terrible games like RE6 seem to have solid legs. The series's annual sales are very impressive.

Modern PC gamers are efficient and spoiled. But it's interesting how Capcom is kind of portraying PC as their golden goose when consoles are kicking Valve's ass in revenue despite losing in units. I think one reason why discounts are more frequent on PC is because it's digital-only, and more money is made on digital (per dollar). Publishers probably hate physical as much as platform holders. Since the PC community already accepted digital-only long ago, Capcom is able to make more money per dollar, which enables them to be more generous with prices.

Over 17 million on average for every Resident Evil entry in this table

Crazy numbers. Discovering a PC audience really gave a new life for this franchise

RE4R will end up selling 30 million+ copies and possibly a lot more lol. This series just doesn't stop selling when on discount.

Capcom games are quite strong on PC. Makes sense.

I got Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil 6 on Steam, and both were quite cheap. I still plan to get quite a few RE titles there.

Damn, they’re really on a roll.
