Yeah we shall see if they change course. Even a little bit. But in reality this announcement feels final. 

I wonder if Xbox will see the backlash and keep physical going another generation. Even if it is just selling a separate blu-ray drive add-on that plugs into the console. So you can keep playing your backwards compatible games. 

It would be so bloody funny is Xbox uno reversed Sony kept physical going and won the gen because of it.

I don't own a current gen XBox so I don't know this: Can you somehow play a physical game on that Xbox Handheld they have? Do you need the disc in your Xbox X to play it on the handheld to verify you have the game or something like that?

I wonder if the PS6 portable is the reason there will be no disc for the PS6 homeconsole? I mean that portable will not have a blue-ray drive presumably.

It’s a Windows-based handheld. So you’d be playing what’s on the Microsoft Store for the Xbox app.

It’s not connected to your console in that way. Only connection would be Xbox Play Anywhere compatible titles.

I do like Pete Dorr, but he is way more negative in his streams compared to his Youtube videos. It becomes a bit too much at times.

No, there's no connection like that currently. There's the rumored Project Positron that would handle something like that though.
