It’s not connected to your console in that way. Only connection would be Xbox Play Anywhere compatible titles. 

Thanks, but what if i'd have a physical Xbox game? Would that work on the handheld somehow. Like a serial number of the disc or such being registered to my Xbox account?

No, there's no connection like that currently. There's the rumored Project Positron that would handle something like that though.
