Nintendo offering their games for less if you buy them digitally may lead to fewer people buying physical Switch 2 games.

Thats their plan. They will soon have total control.

Well there need to be laws in place to side with the consumer on the digital storefront.

Tbf, that was the whole promise of digital games lol. I know there are people online who claim not to support GKC at all, which will also push Nintendo into thinking people prefer digital over physical.

All we can do is buy physical for as long as we're allowed to.

RIP on my part after owning every single PlayStation home console so far (finally caved in and bought a PS5 under a year ago). I don't want to be at the mercy of a single party like Sony. It's fortunate that Sony is making this fairly easy: the prices have been terrible for this whole generation and are only getting worse, and there's not enough interesting exclusives to make investing into their hardware worth it. I don't really expect prices to become reasonable enough even after PS5, and the exclusive situation is also unlikely to get better, because games take longer and longer to make.

The only thing that could improve the exclusive situation for me is studios making better choices: Naughty Dog has clearly takes missteps along the way, with such a long gap between games and Intergalactic not looking too interesting so far. Insomniac has a very heavy focus on superhero games, which I couldn't care much less about. I'm sure they sell well, but I just don't care about them. The rest I don't have anything in particular to say about, so I guess they're doing OK and don't really have much room for improvement (for me at least).

I have to be honest. Im not as sad as I thought I would be. I guess when you have something looming over you for years, its kinda relieving when it happens. Was hoping it would last longer(and it still will with Switch 2, Evercade and others)but its been a bit tiring trying to see the positive in physical media and holding out hope in the last few years. I also appreciate Sony telling us well in advance about their plans.

I'm happy to retire after genATlas releases. I just hope gets a physical. But i say that every generation lol. But it is hysterical sad how it's been non stop bad news after gta6 got announced.

Alot of people will be pissed, but at the same time every year brings in more new gamers who don't know or care about physical. Don't think we can do anything about it. Even a petition of millions wont change it. Fresh blood will take over the numbers.

I'm becoming a Nintendo only gamer. I do not support an all digital gaming landscape. I prefer owning games physically.

This seems like such a misread of the market, especially in light of MS's strong focus on gamepass the last 5 years. If anyone is least in a position to go big on physical, it's MS.
