Forums - Sales - Famitsu Sales: Week 23, 2026 (May 25 - May 31)

If you consider that Switch 2 sold about 45k before the Golden Week/price increase announcement, 31k is "just" a 30% drop. I guess many bought a console during the last couple of weeks, so the numbers should go up as soon as things normalize. But I guess 50k is out of reach for quite some time.

Days of Play started May 27th, many games are discounted, mostly anything 1st and 2nd party specially, you can see Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei there in the chart as well.

Online sales must have been pretty decent since then too, I wonder how much Ghost of Yotei has sold around there combined, with 221K physical it should have crossed 500K by now.

Ah I forgot about that! I thought DoP were for digital only though? Unless I’m misremembering. I actually just sent my bro the DoP list and he got himself KCD2 and… a Switch 2. (DoP put him in a gaming mood, and he didn’t want to be hit by the impending price hike.)

At least here in Brazil physical games also get pretty good discounts, Amazon and some other big marketplaces are all having Days of Play deals since then.

It usually also involves deals for the PS5 but not this time, only accessories are discounted. I saw the lowest price ever for PS VR 2 when the promotion started (it has gone up a bit since but still is in promotion).

Big drop for the switch 2 after the price hike.

247,880 -> 31,751 units.

What is that? like 85%+ drop, week on week, after the price hike.

Yep price increase had a effect.

Are we gonna have a under 10k base line for the OG Switch from now on? I wonder, if that's the case, if it will be like that because people won't be as interested in a Switch as before (due to the price increase) or because Nintendo themselves will stop shipping Switches as much as before

That is an unfair comparison. 247K was not the average Switch 2 week. The price increase will surely have some effect, but the biggest effect it has right now is giving the Switch 2 holliday numbers in the middle of May.

Yeah, it's disingenuous to cite that percentage drop as an example of the effect of the price increase when the number was so abnormally high before.  I admit that I was hoping for more than 31k this week myself when you consider that Switch 2 is the only popular current gen system in the region, but it's not like it fell 85% from its normal baseline or anything, lol.

The important thing going forward is that the baseline goes back to a respectable level when compared to what it was before sales soared a few weeks ago, which I believe it will when you consider that Splatoon Raiders is coming next month and whatever news we get from the Direct next week.

Nintendo's forecast of 2 million NS this FY just doesn't seem realistic. That race to 160 sold seems like a protracted marathon.

It seems like the Switch 1 was supply constrained in the last few weeks. Let's see how it goes.

Astrobot made to the top 10 of the week 24!
