I am a tea lover for sure.

Green tea - hot or cold unsweetened

Matcha green tea lattes - hot or cold

Hojicha - Japanese roasted tea

Chamomile - for help sleeping

Thai Tea - hot or cold

Earl Grey Oat Milk Lattes

I even drank about of alcoholic tea when I lived in Japan.

I usually only drink coffee in emergency circumstances where I either have to wake up early or stay up for a long time. Might do a shot of espresso just to get it over with.

I can't function without strong coffee (black, to help keep my weight down) which I now know is self-medication for my ADHD haha.

I also drink a ton of green tea; hated it the first time I tried it, but it feeds that part of my brain that feels like "I did something good for my health".

Strong coffee helps with your ADHD? I feel like that’d make things like significantly worse if anything lol. I need my green tea because I don’t eat a lot but need to move a lot… tea boosts my metabolism to get all my calories getting used up!

When you have ADHD, stimulants like caffeine level you out and help you focus; ADHD meds are like super, super strong coffee and help regulate our brains.

I'm hoping to get meds soon as without it, its almost impossible to initiate/stick with tasks or get anything done. I need a stupidly strong coffee to be productive at all.

Specialty Coffee.

That said, the caffeine dose in coffees is too low for me, so I get them from pre-workout supplements.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I've deliberately avoided habitual caffeine my whole life (apart from the occasional soda) because I never wanted to become one of those people who can't even function without their morning fix. If I'm ever at a coffee shop socially I'll get something like a hot chocolate or a juice. In the mornings I take (just) a swallow of the latter before I head out the door.

Interesting… would’ve never thought. The more you know! I’ve actually got the opposite of ADHD, funnily enough— I don’t like publicly share what I’ve got, but I’ve already PM’d you about it. I get sensory overload super easily. Interestingly caffeine has never exacerbated nor lessened my symptoms, though the metabolism boost certainly helps me not pass out from being overwhelmed without enough calories.

(Also p.s. not that it’s any of my business what you do with your life, and feel free to totally disregard if you disagree, but just some of my two cents on what my experience has been: Meds are only good as a short-term crutch. They never last. CBT and/or acceptance therapy has been key to my coping with having such a different brain, and if you’ve got a formal diagnosis, it should be 90% covered by insurance. At least that’s how it works with my disorder.)

I've tried CBT, it helped a little, but ultimately I found meds were necessary for me to function without being absolutely crippled by anxiety.

I tend to look at it the same way as physical illness; no different than a paraplegic needing a wheelchair or a diabetic needing insulin, if my brain has a chemical imbalance I don't see a problem with medically correcting this. Just my experience and two cents.

And that’s perfectly valid! Whatever works for some doesn’t work for others.

Thanks for understanding; a lot of people really don't like medication which is fair enough, but for me at least, it helps a lot.

To bring things back to the topic, I actually use a ton of different teas for various needs; chamomile to calm down, ginger and turmeric for my persistent tummy problems, green tea for health reasons, etc.
