With only 5 games to play, I may find myself appreciating some of those horrible live service gacha games that devour all your time more, which is a horrible thought.

Final FantasY XIV

Overwatch

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar

Zelda Breath of the Wild

Pokemon Silver

PS: My GOAT is Persona 4, but it's a game for experience, not a game for a repetitive gameplay.

Wow. Only about two kinds of games as an answer to a question like this? It definitely requires a mindset unlike mine to answer so.

What's wrong with my answer? He asked a question i answered it.  Why would i answer something else?  Nothing to do with a certain "mindset"

I like these games i still play them a lot.

It needs to be something with a lot of replayability, so, assuming there's no online multiplayer, and there's no other people to play board games and tabletop RPGs with, something similar to this:

- Kerbal Space Program, for ability to infinitely mess around with making rockets/spaceships and test them in proper orbital mechanics, while retaining whimsical nature (or Kitten Space Agency, which is spiritual successor involving some of the same people from KSP1)

- some war sim, probably something from either Combat Mission, Steel Panthers or Battlegrounds/Campaigns series...I haven't played anything new from this very niche genre for quite a while, so I would need to check on what's new there as well

- some management sim, either some Civ-like or SimCity-like

- something lighthearted, either MK8 Deluxe, for the sheer size of its content or something simple like arcades from Golden Arcade age of 80s, like Galaga

- either something like Sid Meier's Pirates!, for it's open world privateering where you can finish one "career" in one sitting, something like Elite (whether it's actual Elite, like First Encounters, or some of games influenced by it) for its open ended space exploration, OR Kenshi or Mount&Blade for their open-ended worlds with no predetermined goals OR some Rougelike (like Dwarf Fortress, Caves of Qud or ADOM)...this 5th entry would probably take by far the most time to decide what should I pick

5 games is just not enough, no matter what you pick in the end...

I haven't seen much coming out in that genre past the Millenium, to the point I'm still playing Steel Panthers, Panzer General II/IIID (German name of the game), Fantasy General, History Line  and Battle Isle 3, all games that are 30+ years by this point. Sure, there's Panzer Corps, but they mostly feel like Panzer general II with a fresh coat of paint and less than an entirely new game.

Still waiting for new stuff coming out in the genre....

Ain't nothing wrong with it, just thought it was surprising, but that's coming from my mindset, where I'd definitely want more variance, hence the mindset comment.

Yeah, Panzer Corps is the last one I tried and really liked.

I think there are still games in the genre (and subgenres), like Mius Front and Tunisia:1943, for fans of Combat Missions WeGo gameplay, or (along side mentioned Panzer Crops) Order of Battle: WWII for Panzer General lovers, along other titles like Armored Brigade 1/2...it's just that I don't have time to play them enough to master them, like I had back in days with games I listed (I mostly still play Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin/Afrika Corps and East Front II from Talon's Campaign series).

That said, if I had to choose one warsim to be one of 5 entries in this "the rest of your life" game list, I would be sure to dig dipper to see which one would take the spot.
