The first two will be hidden with a “Spoiler!”. These are the two big ones.

Spoiler!
(1.) Star Fox returns with an NS2 Exclusive in 2026.
(2.) TLoZ: OoT Remake is inbound for H2 2026.

(3.) 3D Mario is MIA.
(4.) Pikmin 4 & Xeno2 will be receiving NS2 Editions this year.
(5.) The Duskbloods is slated for H2 2026.
(6.) Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem, Rhythm Heaven, and a Switch Sports successor planned for the Summer.
(7.) Third-party will continue to serve as a crutch for Nintendo will lean on this year.
(8.) General Nintendo Direct is coming in June.

Well, I’m glad to hear DK will be given some extra time in the spotlight! Sounds like a really fun lineup IMO. Pikmin 4, [SPOILER], Rhythm Heaven, Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem, AND [SPOILER]? Take my money, Nintendo. You’ve got it lol.

Star Fox returning would've been a joke a few days ago, but now we have that Mario movie teaser.

Ocarina of Time remake is interesting but weird. I can see something like that being anything from a remaster of the 3DS version to a massively expanded re-imagining.

So, Zelda: OoT Remake, Switch Sports 2 (Wii Sports 20th Anniversary), Splatoon Raiders, Duskbloods, new Star Fox (!), Fire Emblem for the rest of 2026 ... is not bad. Some exciting things there, but Ocarina of Time Remake has to be fairly visually impressive maybe like that old Wii U Zelda tech demo with Link fighting the giant Spider but on steroids to reach FF7 Remake quality.

All that said ... no new 3D Mario really kinda hurts. If that's the case I think they probably made a mistake with Donkey Kong Bananza, I love DK platformers, but Mario is simply far more important. Not a ton of big ticket system sellers, unless like Smash is a surprise late 2026 game. Switch Sports is ok but it's not 2006 anymore.

Personally I'll be happy with this group of titles as I'm a big Star Fox fan and OoT Remake could be awesome. Do wonder if GTAVI for Switch 2 is true and Nintendo intervened to get it to fill out the holiday line up.

Worth noting is that DKBananza and the upcoming 3D Mario games were made using two different parts of EDP 8. Koizumi has been hard at work with Mario for a while, I’d imagine. Dropping 3D Mario alongside the new mainline Pokémon and an NS2 Lite is definitely is the smartest call commercially IMO. That’s like a COVID 2020 level boost in the making.

As far as my tastes are concerned? I’m in love with this line up! Star Fox and a 3D Zelda remake… oh man. That just sounds too good to be true. On top of Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven, Yoshi, and Fire Emblem, I’m looking at a lot of fun games this year.

Would be a decent line-up. I'd definitely go for the two "spoiler" games and Pikmin 4 and Xenoblade 2 getting NS2 editions would be right up my alley. And I would love Switch 2 Sports.

However, I wonder where all the truly huge sellers are? No new 3D Mario, 2D Mario, Animal Crossing, Zelda, Smash Bros, Pokémon, new Mario Party (which was one of the best sellers on the OG Switch), Luigi's Mansion. It's like Nintendo is keeping all their big guns for 2027 and beyond.

Personally I'd be happy because I'm a huge, huge Star Fox fan, and there's some pretty wild news on Star Fox outside of just this, but I think it's a spoiler for a certain something.

I think Zelda: OoT Remake will use an enhanced version of that Wii U tech demo engine, I always figured Nintendo would use this some how.

I assume Mario Kart World DLC will also start some time this year so that'll be more to play, factor in 3rd party games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Monster Hunter Wilds, Call of Duty, and probably a lot of Western developer games (GTAVI even?) and I'm good with this lineup. That said I get the disappointment with no new 3D Mario, but lets also face it, Nintendo wasn't going to be immune to longer dev times required, PS4-to-PS5 tier visuals simply require huge dev cycles, Nintendo was never going to be immune to that.

Duskbloods this year would be a pretty big deal too IMO.

VGC is corroborating the reports! So good sign that these leaks are legit.

Upcoming games are more suited to my taste. I know 3D Mario is gigantic, but hasn't really been my thing in a long time.

(!!!) The next general Direct cannot come soon enough! It’ll be a long wait for June.

I do wonder how much the movies are influencing Nintendo's release output though. DK was a big character in the Mario movie and has his own theme park area so of course I think they felt like they had to make DK Bananza. Star Fox ... well there's some exciting news about that, but it's a spoiler, but wow it seems like the character is finally getting a ton of love from Nintendo.

Even Zelda: OoT Remake, I felt like this was going to happen because next year the live action movie comes out. Having a remade OoT for the younger generation + older generation's nostalgia for late 2026 leads into the release of the movie really well.

Also a Smash Brothers movie I think is becoming more and more obviously a lock now.

Will Ocarina be like a full fledged remake and not a simple remaster? If it's a remaster I'm not interested, already played a remaster version on 3DS

I felt the game design (read: the dungeons) was good, but the controls and camera needed a severe overhaul. A full remake with better controls, camera and combat flow would have me interested
