Mochizuki? Isn't he basically a Japanese Michael Pachter? Why does anyone give this guy credence anymore.

It seems Takashi Mochizuki. To lend some benefit to Takashi, I’d imagine this 6 million figure is referring to NS1+NS2, but even then, that’d still need to be 5-5.5 million for NS2… in a quarter where MTFever and Pokopia were the only two NS2 releases lol.
Doesn't sound right as 6m would be insanely high for Q4
I don’t know who this Mochizuki is, but he sounds just like Pachter.

Off the top of my head, the only console that was a more powerful and standard successor that sold more than its already well-selling predecessor is PS2. PS1 was already a huge hit, and PS2 was way bigger. Xbox 360 sold far more than Xbox, but the first Xbox wasn't a hit.
PS5 will likely outsell PS4, but by how much? 5-10%?
There's little chance Switch 2 cracks 150 million units, even with a more stable globe and pricing.
Nintendo had tons of Switch 2 consoles manufactured to reduce shortages. If this report is true, perhaps they crunched the numbers and didn't feel like having millions and millions of Switch 2 consoles sitting in warehouses and stores for months on end.
Lifetime Sales Predictions
Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)
PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)
Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)
PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)
3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

4 million for the quarter?
As in THIS quarter? January-March?
That would put Switch 2 at 21.37 million units sold by the end of its first fiscal year. WAY past their current 19m forecast. And it’s not even a FULL fiscal year, it’s just 10 months!
For comparison’s sake, that would blow the Switch 1’s first full fiscal year out of the water, FY2018, (15.05 million).
It would put above even the PS5’s best fiscal year, FY2023, (20.9 million), and just behind the Switch 1’s two best fiscal years, FY2021: (28.83 million) and FY2022: (23.06 million).
This dude is just pulling random numbers out of his ass and trying to spin it as a negative.
Yep, just like Pachter back in the say.

Even disregarding the track record of this person this doesn't really mean much since there having been a significant slow down after an incredible first few months is already established. It's still doing really well overall, just not amazing any more. Great sales in Japan but just good in Europe and the US is the sort of thing that can be expected for at least a while.

Eh, because of his track record and the Switch's current situation, we probably shouldn't give this much attention and lock things up. I'll personally re-open the thread should the situation start looking like this at all.
