Forums - Nintendo - GTA6 potential day 1 launch on NS2

I always thought insignificant goes along with something that you don't care,  something too small to be considered noteworthy. But, fair enough... I will pay attention from now on

I see what you were going for.

In this case, if you felt FPS was insignificant, you would need to say something like, "It's insignificant to me." because in English those last two words can make or break what you're attempting to express, especially online where body language and tone are lost.

Hope that helps : )

There's no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will be trying hard to get this onto Switch 2, but I think Rockstar has enough on their plate launching it in a good state on PS5/Xbox so I think it will be a delayed release at best if it all. Remember, even if Rockstar is willing there's no guarantee it will work. Look at Borderlands 4. Gearbox tried but couldn't pull it off on the hardware.

As a reminder, this was going to launch last year, but got delayed a whole ass year after the explosive sales of the NS2...

It is in fact a point.

But GTA V as also delayed in the year the PS4 and XBO released and it still wasn't waiting for those to be a crossgen release.

Rockstar delays are normal.

The initial delay happened on May 2nd 2025 (before Switch 2 even launched) to May 2026 and then to November 2026. The delay has nothing to do with Switch 2 or its "explosive" sales that the first 2 months of its launch had before it started to slow down. Rockstar wouldn't be concerned about Nintendo given the install base size when the game launches. The PC would be their next move given its growth factor as of late.

Lol, people aren't suggesting GTA, which sells 200,000,000 million copies, is being delayed for the S2.. yeah? I mean, lol. No.

Rockstar doesn't necessarily have to do the port themselves. Shiver brought MK11/MK1 and Hogwarts Legacy to Switch 1 and has brought WWE to Switch 2 and a job listing from one of their employees says they are working on a AAA game port for Switch 2 which required an engine that isn't on Switch 1/2 to be ported from the ground level up.

I actually wondered why Nintendo themselves bought Shiver Entertainment 100% outright. They were functioning just fine with 3rd parties as is, I think they had a big ticket port or two in mind and purchased them more specifically for that, this would certainly fit that bill.

Not saying that's a lock at all, but that could be a possibility.

Yeah, I see no connection to the NS2 release, even as yes, it has now released before GTA VI did.

It's literally what I expect when they announce it, to be delayed lol.

Good, now you can go back to thread and take a post where somebody said 30fps and 60fps are the same, bc I cant see it

The difference between 30, 60 and 120 fps isn't insignificant.  if you want to concede that point, I am happy to drop the topic.

Even the difference between 120 and 240 is notable. I recently got a new monitor and while I could quickly get used to 120 again there is a significant smoothness difference in stuff like fast paced fps games when jumping up to 240. It's not as big as the jump from 60 to 120 of course but it's bigger than I was expecting so diminishing returns isn't that much of a factor yet.

I haven't had the pleasure, my TV is 120 hz, but that wouldn't shock me.  A few years ago, I would have scoffed at the notion of 120 fps, given I was a 60 fps console gamer, but after playing 120 fps..  yeah, significant without doubt.
