It might just have been a strategy to get PC gamers over to Playstation. It would have to end at some point.

It was indeed one of the possible reasons for them trying PC, make people have contant with those games and make them come play more on PS.
Don't really think that was working out for them, tho.

Correlation? Sony does not get money from Capcom sales on PC

I could be proven wrong, but if that was their strategy, that seems really dumb. I can't fathom people giving up PC. Free online, mods, emulation, custom settings, superior graphics, choice on controller, etc. I could be alone, but I will quit gaming before I give up PC.

You can have both, you don't need to sell your PC to have and play a console

Sure.. at $600 (seems like the lowest possible ps6 price) and $80 a year for online... and more expensive games. I think we live in a world of convenience: Amazon, Netflix, Disney Fast Pass, Smartphones, etc. I don't see people, in a world of convenience, owing 3 consoles + a PC. People will make choices. I know I have.

That is a shame as I've made the move to PC gaming this generation. Not enough exclusives on PS5 to justify spending $500+ on a console (I've not bought a Switch 2 yet for the same reason). I'll admit I've waited for most PS games to drop to $30 or lower on PC before buying them as my backlog is big enough as it is. Well other than God of War Ragnarok which I bought day 1 on PC for $60.

Yeah they pretty much confirmed that as part of the reason a while ago. But a lot of people didn't believe them thinking they're desperate for the added profitability from PC because their games cost too much to develop and whatnot lol. Their live service games will still be there day one and sell best on PC. I think it's a nice and balanced strategy, but they should commit to it for at least a generation.
In my opinion, Sony's smaller singleplayer titles should also be ported to PC just to give the IP's higher chance to grow in popularity
PS5 was the first PS home console that I didn't buy, but I ended up using my brother's PS5 DE and got myself a PSVR2. I'll probably get a PS6 year 1.

Good I guess, exclusives are far less bug ridden than multiplats anyway. Will it make me buy a PS6? Maybe, maybe not.
Perhaps this is also Sony looking at Xbox hardware crashing and burning and becoming emboldened.
We can kiss goodbye to pre-PS4 Sony games coming to PC anytime soon.
