If you have a base PS5, there should be quite a bit of multi platform games that runs better on Series X.

It's a matter of taste, but some like myself also prefer Xbox's controllers, I find them more comfortable than Playstation's.

I feel tempted to get switch 2 after never really caring about switch 1 but cant afford to make an impulsive buys right now. not after buying the QD oled samsung TV I wanted years ago..

I wonder if that power difference actually resulted in better games or not after all.

Early on during the generation I remember PS5 was said to provide better tools for devs and some games were actually running better on PS5 instead.

I dunno if that changed, very likely it did, but because the PS5 became the default version for pretty much every third party dev to develop for I think most games must be basically exactly the same between both platforms.

I went to check DF video on Resident Evil Requiem and at least there it was said to be exactly the same quality and performance.

I do remember some games like Elden Ring and Final Fantasy XVI running better on PS5 but I'm tempted to say basically all games are pretty much the same, despite the XSX having technically the better hardware. I think this might actually be an even more equal scenario than the PS3 vs 360 and the PS4 vs XBO tbh.

Are there any notable games worth looking for the XSX version instead?

If you skipped the NS1 the NS2 becomes quite the nobrainer IMO.

Wii U had some great games and mostly all of them were ported to the NS1, then there are the NS1 games, and the NS2 gen to follow up on.

If you play mostly on TV a lot of NS1 games will run better on a NS2 too (some games look softer on the NS2 screen due to a weird ratio difference from the NS1 screen), but some of those are paid upgrades, sadly.

If you never played the Wii U and the NS1 I can send you a picture of my NS1 games for you, I think all of them are Nintendo exclusives (with one having a PC version).

Off the top of my head Alan Wake 2, Doom The Dark Ages, RE Village, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle look and run better on Xbox Series X than on base PS5.

You are right.  I think that is what makes switch 2 more attractive.  It has lot of Wii U and switch one games with better performances like the zelda games.  breath of the wild at 60fps is really tempting.

Gonna have to wait a bit more unfortunately.

You can pick up Lost Odyssey in the xbox store for £20
True achievements is a good resource to looking out games that skipped the other consoles you had
Here is a link to all of the x360 and xbox games which are backward compat

Lost odyssey and blue dragon are kind of cheap digital, there is also infinite undiscover from square enix, enchanted arms from ubisoft but thats not on the store anymore and i think magnacarta 2 was also exclusive to xbox 360, the first one was on ps 2, those are the games that made me get a series, hopefully we can play them on pc with the new update that is rumored so i dont have to keep an xbox anymore

@superjas @rychito

I have Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon wishlisted for when they get on sale, but I'm looking for a good opportunity to get them, specially Lost Odyssey, physically. Sadly they are quite rare and expensive around here, same for The Witcher 2, which I bought on a sale in the store.

I got a few more games since I got the system, and I'm mainly looking at this three mentioned above. Not really that much on Blue Dragon but if a good change appears I'll grab it.

I have already beaten Enchanted Arms on my PS3 some years ago tho.
