I’d say Breath of the Wild. Not only is it, in my mind, the best game ever made, but I’ve found that it speaks to audiences of many different gaming inclinations. Speaking from personal experience, I, as someone who has played hundreds of games across multiple genres and craves a stiff challenge, hold it above all others. My wife, who prefers point-and-click games and cozy life sims, considers it a masterpiece. And our friends, one of whom picked up the Switch on a whim and has virtually zero video game experience, couldn’t put it down.

It’s a very approachable, understandable game with a ton of gameplay flexibility, one that you can make as hard or as easy as you want — which is what endears it to so many people, I think.

Chrono Trigger and Resident Evil 4 (2005)

In my opinion, Chrono Trigger is the best game ever made. Not my #1 favorite, but still the best game ever made.

However, I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, because it's an RPG, and some people may find it not very easy to play.

Snood on DS that shit was killer

I don't think there is such a game. What means the world to someone may be completely meaningless to someone else. People have wildly different tastes.

Black Mesa unless you hate FPS games.

The Witcher 3 unless you hate RPG games.

Warcraft III unless you hate mouse-and-keyboard games.

Portal 2 unless you hate video games.

(Yes that's two, I counted).

First thought is always Okami - or you can replace that with Ocarina of Time or another Zelda.

Fool's Errand is such amazing puzzle-within-puzzles that I'm tempted to say it. Alternative would be Myst.

-For people that are gamers:  Ori   (Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps).

Because of the beautiful artstyle, the challenging but rewarding gameplay and the simple but emotionally stirring story:

-For non gamers: Mario Kart (I'm thinking 8 deluxe, Wii or even double Dash)

Because basically anyone can pick it up and be playing in minutes and then be able to put back down without having to get too involved.  It's a social game that family or friends, gamer or not, can enjoy together.  It has a bright, colorful art style that can appeal to anyone.

Soooo many.
But og FF7 is a must play
