I’d say Breath of the Wild. Not only is it, in my mind, the best game ever made, but I’ve found that it speaks to audiences of many different gaming inclinations. Speaking from personal experience, I, as someone who has played hundreds of games across multiple genres and craves a stiff challenge, hold it above all others. My wife, who prefers point-and-click games and cozy life sims, considers it a masterpiece. And our friends, one of whom picked up the Switch on a whim and has virtually zero video game experience, couldn’t put it down.
It’s a very approachable, understandable game with a ton of gameplay flexibility, one that you can make as hard or as easy as you want — which is what endears it to so many people, I think.
