Holy cow! Wolverine way underperformed expectations: 81OC (78MC). Well PS5 still has Phantom Blade and GTAVI so Sony will be fine, but darn! Insomniac may have missed… guess we’ll have to wait and hear fan reception.

Yeah I have a feeling the recent discourse around PlayStation has effected that score lol. I can understand a fall in quality from SM2 but going from 90 to 78?
This is backlash from reviewers, whether consciously or not.

Kind of crazy that Spider-Man 2 got 90. Probably one of the most disappointing games of the gen, up there with metroid prime.
I'm not too surprised this is reviewing pretty low. It has never looked particularly good to me.
I'm surprised; I expected more from Insomniac. A very weak review score, it will seriously impact sales. I, for one, won't be buying it.
Based on the insomniac leaks, I wonder if this will put an end to plans for an X-Men game. Perhaps for good?
Insomniacs can now focus on Spiderman, Ratchet & Clank and, luckly, a New Playstation IP.

So far, 3 out of 4 predictions of mine have been pretty much on point. Now let’s see if FE is gonna deliver.

Seeing as Tokon and Soros currently sit in the high 80s on OC, and recalling how lukewarm early impressions were for Wolverine, I’m more so inclined to believe that critics didn’t love what the game has to offer. But again, critics often miss the mark— simply look at Splatoon Raiders and Crimson Desert. Two games wjth a powerful fan following that landed in the high-70s/low-80s on OC.
We could have another Metroid Prime 4 on our hands. We could also have another Crimson Desert. We’ll just have to wait and play the game for ourselves.

I respectfully disagree. Major studios like Nintendo EPD, Insomniac, and Bethesda... get "bonus points", not the other way around. That "seal of pedigree" carries weight in reviews—make no mistake.
Wolverine must be truly problematic if it can't even crack an 80 with the "Insomniac seal of pedigree".
Edit.:
Besides, reviewers rely on the publisher's goodwill; they wouldn't put themselves in a position to anger Sony over issues like protesting the "end of physical media."
I doubt they would risk rating Wolverine far below its "actual performance". The game is bad—plain and simple.
Last edited by Manlytears - 3 hours agoI was expecting very high scores for Wolverine. IGN gave it a 6/10. Wow.
I guess Sweet Baby Inc. delivered again.
