This is a really interesting list of games beaten in 2026. Some of my favorite games this year were Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring, and God of War. Among all of these, I am a big fan of Cyberpunk 2077 because of its story and graphics. I even purchased a Cyberpunk jacket, and it feels amazing to wear it while playing the game. Gaming in 2026 has been such a fun and memorable experience. Keep sharing more great lists like this!

Just Finished: We Were Here (PS4)

The game only cost me $1.99. The co-op elements are pretty basic. It does not work if your co-op partner does not understand how to play chess. I think puzzle co-op games are fun because it is fun to problem solve with your partner. The graphics, story, and music are all pretty basic. It feels like the first level of a game rather than a complete experience. I think its fine to have bite sized standalone titles like this. The central conceit of using the walkie talkies is moot because you can use regular voice chat to get around it. I'm not sure if I'd be interested in playing the rest of the games in the series. Maybe if they are bundled together cheaply or given away as a PS Plus game I'd check them out.

Score: 6/10

Full Completed 2026 List:

  • Bayonetta 3 (Switch)
  • Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)
  • Super Mario Sunshine HD (Switch)
  • We Were Here (PS4)

1/31/26 Baldur's Gate 3 (Second Playthrough) 70 hours.

Currently working on Metroid Prime 4. Enjoying it so far.

These boss battles are a lot more difficult than I am used to Nintendo games being. It's refreshing, but also kind of annoying to die and then go through a bunch of cutscenes because I missed a save point next to the boss.

2/7/26 Metroid Prime 4.

Overall it was an 8/10 Metroid game with a 4/10 final ending and a 6/10 final boss. The extra characters, motorcycle, and desert area weren't needed. The story's overall plot doesn't get resolved and just ends on a cliffhanger. The combat has improved a little over previous entries but too many enemies with long health bars harass you over and over. And it's always the same enemy type everytime. This really bogs down exploration. But then most of the bosses in this game are good. Just not the last boss.

Starting Expedition 33 on Monday. :)

4/2/26 Expedition 33 98 hours.

Expedition 33 was pretty good. I like parry systems, late game exploration, and plenty of weapons and items to build a party however you like. E33 had all of that in spades. The ending left a little to be desired but I'm sure there will be a sequel eventually. Solid 9/10 game for me, but not the 10/10 that a lot of people have been raving about.

There's a certain order to play the PS2 AC games in, because having a save file from a previous game unlocks secret parts that can help a lot in sequel games.
