There isn't a single unique factor as to why the performance is as is .

The single factor is the USA.  Everywhere else is clearly fine.

Eh what? Switch 2 sold even crappier in Europe during November than it sold in the US. PS5 did great there but Switch 2 obviously has bigger problems than just the US, otherwise sales wouldn't be even worse in Europe.

I think the main problem for Switch 2 is that next year it will likely see a price increase due to tariffs as well as RAM prices increasing due to AI, its already a hard sell for the general public at the current price so the price increase for Switch 2 next year will for a long time heavily impact its sales potential.

I think the Switch 2 will likely become a new version of 3DS, mega popular in Japan but set for steep decline in Europe and the US.

Well, Nintendo only fired a couple of big guns on Switch 2 so far. Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and Metroid mainly. We still need to see how the market will react to a new mainline Legend of Zelda, Super Mario and Pokémon. It could move a lot of systems.

But... If none of those work, I can see where you're coming from.

Switch 2's first November in Europe is doing better than Switch 1's first November. I'm not sure why you'd expect it to do much better than that.

You're being blinded by comparing it to the best november any console has ever had with the PS5.

The Switch 2 sold pretty well in Europe, it's about where you'd expect it with no major releases.  Also remember Europe is biased towards PlayStation.

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

I am almost convinced due to the frequency of times he blurts out the same unfounded claims on all the sales threads that he's just a concern troll.

But that says a lot about Switch 2 popularity in Europe, that the same year it releases pretty much everything is about PS5 in Europe and they are breaking records left and right there. It means the Switch 2 is largely irrelevant there. Switch 2 is hoovering around 200-400k on a monthly basis, which is nothing numbers. Only comparing it to Xbox sales make it look comparably good.

You need to stop comparing it to how PS5 is selling. It's a Nintendo console that just launched, not a playstation at it's peak.

It's selling faster than Switch 1 in Europe and that eventually sold almost 40m in Europe. These numbers are nothing to be alarmed by.

Nintendo will put up a massive fight in the US for sure once their bigger hitter software titles start to come out. That Mario movie sequel and the Zelda movie are going to be massive hits that benefit the Switch 2 as well especially in North America, watch.

Their IP is just far more popular today than the 3DS era.

I frequented this site back during the recession in 2008-2010 and people here were always astounded by how well the consoles did at that time and it seemed like the economy just didn't matter. I mean those were some of the best years in the US, the wii ps3 and 360 were all selling big numbers and even the DS.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Wow. Truly horrible hardware numbers, only 1.6 million for all systems combined is abysmal for November. That's shockingly bad.

I know the US economy has really gone off a cliff this year with the deranged political/economic leadership, but I mean damn, this is reallll bad for the gaming industry. I guess bad economy plus literally nothing in gaming being cheap anymore plus tariffs is just sinking the US industry right now.

PS5 is dominating Europe but that's about it. Nintendo is dominating Japan but already been weak in Europe for months and now these awful US Nov numbers are really making it look like the steam is already fading for the Switch 2 outside of Japan. Everyone desperately needs to lower their prices, though tariffs make that impossible in the US, and Switch 2 desperately needs to start getting games.
