PlayStation has a long history of releasing popular and acclaimed platformers of both the 2D and 3D variety?

But which game do you think deserves the crown for Greatest PlayStation Platformer? I am talking about games published by Sony.

Astro Bot is the most recent PlayStation platformer to take the industry by storm. Across three entries the game has remained a consistent celebration of PlayStation's history.

Ratchet and Clank have been the most consistent platforming franchise from Sony, seeing new entries stretching back to the PS2. Rift Apart is a visual showcase and a great action platforming game.

Crash Bandicoot 1 - 3 on the PlayStation are classics that melded 2D and 3D platforming and gave the early PS console a strong mascot.

LittleBigPlanet was ahead of its time with its 4-player co-op and play, create, share ethos. Even SackBoy A Big Adventure carried over some of that fun into 3D.

Other strong contenders include the under appreciated Puppeteer, the charming LocoRoco, the acclaimed Jak and Daxter franchise, even Knack and its sequel has its fans.

What do you say?

This is a difficult one. My subjective opinion is the first Crash, as I can honestly say that still brings me the most joy while playing it. But the objective is a lot more challenging. I am tempted to go with Astro Bot, but I mean... what Little Big Planet did was far more innovative. I'd really have to think about this to draw some sort of conclusion.

Astro Bot is phenomenal. But my heart belongs to Crash and Ratchet.

I love Astrobot and Ratchet & Clank

Never was a big fan of Crash Bandicoot myself, but i do enjoy those games

Never cared for Sly cooper or Knack

Crash Bandicoot and Ratchet & Clank are both phenomenal franchises.

I also love Spyro, does it count?

Astro Bot, for me. I consider it one of the best Sony-published games, period.

In second place, I'd put The Precursor Legacy. Amazing game. Along with Uncharted 2, I think it's Naughty Dog's best work.

After that it's Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, etc. Ratchet & Clank almost never disappoints.

As much as I love Crash and Ratchet, Sly 2 is one of the top 5 Sony games ever for me. Pitch-perfect stealth platforming gameplay with a sweet neo noir film style aesthetic. Hard to beat.

I would say something like Astro Bot, but I love the continuous storytelling of Sly Cooper.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

How the fuck did you make this poll without putting in Ape Escape but you put in knack of all things? It's Ape Escape

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. All three of the PS1 trilogy are golden, but the third for me had the most variety and was the most approachable.

Honourable mention to Puppeteer for how creative and stylish it was.

Crash, Astro has potential to surpass it tho.
