Forums - Nintendo - Orbitals, a Switch 2 exclusive co-op game based on retro anime, coming this Summer

Gameplay doesn't seem like my cup of tea (although who knows at this point, maybe it could be), but that visual style is very impressive!

I do like myself some Matsumoto space opera with the likes of Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999 and Queen Millennia. Looking out for this one to see if it can scratch the same itch.

New trailer; the game now has a release window, this North Hemisphere Summer (Winter for us South Hemisphere folks)

So what I get from the trailer is that split screen still remains even with 2 Switch systems playing locally. With It Takes Two and Split Fiction is also the same thing right?

I understand that helps to see what the other player is doing for a better cooperative gameplay, but it kinda ruins the immersion imo

Is it really exclusive?

Yes.

Perhaps later down the line it's possible it may come to other platforms, or on the other hand, maybe Nintendo has it locked down as they did for Bayonetta 2/3 and Astral Chain.

For now, it's a Switch 2 exclusive.

Kind of sucks.  I'm not a huge fan of exclusives on any platform, would prefer PC for this via free online.  Looks good but will likely wait to see.

Possibly, it showed it was still splitscreen in gameshare, which in other games gives you your own screen. So it might be always splitscreen for gameplay reasons.
