TGA has been great the last couple of years with reveals but goes on for so long.

Its such a bitter sweet event to watch live. Can't wait for tonight lol!

Really it's just best to let it play out on the side whilst you game or do more important things, 'less you really wanna be watching those mobile Asia gatcha ads all night lol

I still think Split Fiction got robbed not being a GOTY nominee but at least it should still win something. The 2024 GA had a relatively poor reception if I remember right and I don't remember much if anything about it so hopefully this one is better. This has been a fantastic year for video games so the awards part is gonna be more compelling than usual this time.

Mmmmh ... Pretty sure it was the one in 2023 that got a good amount of backlash due to the time constraint they put on every award speeches and cutting short the GOTY winner's speech as well.

The one last year got that stuff dialed back and overall felt like a better presentation and even if ... that's still the Games Awards show so slow pacing, ads ads ads and even AI ads 🤢, uneccesary celebrity cameos, Hideo Kojima having all the time to f*** around with Geoff, sweeping through a large amount of award categories with no fanfare, etc ...

So yeah, I've got no hopes this will do anything different or interesting.

I might as well advertise my own stream. I'll be watching it live on Twitch with viewers (and writing up the bigger news). I'll be live just before it starts.

Less than 1 hour to go.

I hope everyone to have a great show.

Hmm… I’m not sure if I want to watch TGA live or if I just want to watch all the trailers after the fact. The show is bloated beyond words! It’s like three hours long, no? I could be playing Clair Obscur during that time!

If only there was a way to received live updates on reveals without getting spoiled (and without spending three hours watching)…

Hm... The Live Stream video says about 20 minutes from now.

Oh, I guess they'll begin with the pre-show.

I'll watch at least some of it. With E3 gone, I've got a watching-premieres shaped hole in my heart.

The 2024 one actually has a worse like to dislike ratio on Youtube than the 2023 show so despite that I think reception was even worse. At least even a relatively poor Game Awards is still better than a typical Summer Games Fest or Opening Night Live.
