Some people just don't like it, me being one. When I play a Mario game, I want to play as Mario. When I play a Metal Gear Solid game, I want either Snake, or some sort of clone of Snake (I was one of the angry people on the internet way back when after Kojima did the infamous bait and switch with MGS2). When I play Sly Cooper, I was to play as Sly Cooper etc.

This is a bizarre motive to not buy something.

I couldn't care less if a game has a different protagonist if it's a good, and everything seems to indicate Ghost of Yotei is a good game.

It's actually quite common (not wanting a new protagonist). As I mentioned, the internet was set ablaze by Raiden being swapped into MGS 2 in place of Snake. Almost all of us, from what I can remember. It was nothing but primitive memes about not wanting to endure another moment of Raiden's naked ass. People were irate... rightly or wrongly.

But that doesn't mean you have to feel that way. You can enjoy games that swap main characters out for others. And guess what? You can even do that without disparaging others by calling their dislike for it bizarre.

Oh yes. There us clear signs of access journalism here, no doubt. Fingers still crossed buy I'm less hopeful. I suspect the dialogue will be eye rolling and the story lilled woke terms and themes.

God I hope I am wrong.

Best review I found. This man seems not to fear upsetting Sony which is clearly not the case with the tame, vague reviews from the MSM.

Does anyone know where I can find mission example or a section with dialogue?

Oh yeah, I'm buying this game when it's cheaper for sure. I loved Tsushima

The Raiden example you keep giving is funny to me because MGS2 ended up being awesome and better than MGS4 and 5 imo, and you play as Snakes on these.

Damn. I'm extremly let down. I've seen enough, these reviews don't match there scores. I wasted my time, Luke Stevens does the job for everyone in the video he just listed. He comes to the same conclusion as me and probably done way more research with more reviews.

That is not at all what we thought then. And it's not at all what I think now. Out of the OG trilogy, it's at the bottom. Still a great game, though.

Add an option for PC port

PSA: Do not look at the IGN video review. It ruins the title card moment a few seconds in. They gave it an 8/10.

*sigh* Well this thread is off to a great start...I hope this isn't the level of discourse we can expect going forward. Anyway...

I was honestly starting to worry that this entry wouldn't live up to the first but what I'm hearing and seeing looks great so far. I especially like the mentions of improved storytelling (which I already thought was pretty good in the first game).

Also nice to see how well it performs. I think I'll try RT mode and change to 60 if it bothers me.

What’s up with the forum being so negative? Some are acting like the game scored in the 60s/70s. It’s bordering on a 90OC, and it sounds like people who’ve played are really loving it.
