Since COD 4 back in the day, has Nintendo ever had a COD game that is in complete parity with the Playstation and Xbox versions? I don't think it has. This is just par for the course when you buy into their platform.

I mean it doesn't really need to have "parity", it's kinda impossible for say a Wii or Switch 2 port to have parity just from a technical perspective.

It would still be worthwhile though, as it would probably sell a decent amount as well as adding to the system's library.

For COD players, that sort of thing is vital. The Wii version was a joke. The Wii-U version was pretty awful as well. They were both so bad that neither of them were worth the development time, imo. So as a consumer, I certainly would not be looking for that franchise on that platform going in. Same with GTA and other like-games. Some franchises, you're just not going to get when you buy a Nintendo console, and it's been that way since the N64.

My guess is that COD, being a yearly series, is on a very tight production schedule across multiple dev teams spanning the globe. I think the games are planned three to four years in advance and that it was too disruptive to add Switch 2 to their plans at whatever stage of development they happened to be for Black Ops 7. Hopefully COD will make it onto Switch 2 next year.

This is probably the answer right here. COD's are released on an extremely tight yearly schedule, it probably was not as easy to implement a Switch 2 version into that.

They were clearly worth it to Activision, as COD continued to come to Wii year after year.

I played the COD ports to Wii and Wii U and had a great time with them.

I think the lack of dev kits also played a part. Since COD is worked on by thousands of developers they probably need a lot of dev kits which Nintendo could not provide. I do think BO7 will release on Switch 2 early next year and will get next years COD day one. With rumors that BO7 will be the final COD game on PS4/Xbox One I think they'll have more time to get COD on Switch 2 (although I'm sure Microsoft is making them have COD run well on the ASUS ROG, and the possibility of their next gen system launching next year).

In any case considering how big COD is I'm shocked Nintendo didn't try to get BO7 day one with other platforms.

I'm happy for you. But just because you had a great time with those games does not mean anything beyond you having had a great time playing those games. It is also entirely possible for someone to say they had a great time playing something while acknowledging the obvious. And when it comes to those two versions, it's beyond obvious.

You don't buy Nintendo consoles if you want the best COD experience.

Whether you think they're the best experience is irrelevant.

COD on Wii was clearly worthwhile to Activision as they kept porting them over, likewise COD on Switch 2 has the potential to be a worth it too.

What I think is irrelevant, correct. What the majority thought back then, is not. Not if we're discussing which versions were the gold-standards. And for fucks sake, Curl. We all know it's true. No one wanted the Nintendo versions (figure of speech; stop typing). They were fucking jokes.

As for the Switch 2 game that doesn't even exist yet... it will be inferior as well. The specs of that handheld guarantee it.

What the majority think actually doesn't matter as long as it appeals to enough people to be commercially successful.

Most gamers for instance aren't interested in say Xenoblade or Fire Emblem but those IPs still sell enough to be worth making.

Switch 2 gamers don't care if a game is graphically worse than PS/Xbox/PC.

I second this. I have a PS5 Pro standing around here and I prefer multiplats on Switch 2 for the sole reason of being able to play on the go. I am more than satisfied with the graphics on Switch 2.
