It was fine. Like 7 or 8 out of ten? I was hoping for one or two more big announcement.

I've toyed with the idea of buying a Virtual boy since mine broke long ago (I got it for like 50 bucks after it flopped), so I'm hyped for that. Does this mean more vr stuff is on the way? The Switch 2 seems to be capable of it so long as there's a mount/headset.

Fire Emblem Three Houses was one of my favorite games, and Engage was a slog. This one looks more like the former, so I'm excited. Pretty sure that was Sothis at the end? So it may be a direct sequel of sorts.

I recently replayed Galaxy 2, so kind of not too excited despite it being my favorite game. Will one say buy it. Glad you can buy it without 1, since I think it's going to be the same as the 3D Allstars version. Maybe this will lead to a third Galaxy game, but with Nintendo I'm not sure I'd read too much into it. They have a tendency to not do what seems to be the obvious.

Prime 4 looks pretty good and we finally have a date.

DK Bananza DLC looks good. It looks like a mini rogue like or rougelite or w/e which is an interesting take. Will buy once I've finished with the main game and perhaps taken a bit of a break.

Aside from that there wasn't much that spoke to me personally. But, when you put it altogether it makes for a solid enough first year lineup.

Two things....

#1 Samus on a bike.... this will ether be the worst decision ever, or the best decision ever, there is no in-between.
#2 Kirby Air ride is getting a 2nd direct...... So im wondering, does Nintendo give Masahiro Sakurai whatever he wants? Maybe im wrong, but i always felt like kirby was a B tier game, and kirby air ride feels like it was a a grade lower than the normal kirby platforms. Nintendo sure is giving this game a lot of press time.

They should give the man everything he wants. He is incredible. He doesnt work for Nintendo and can easily go somewhere else.

I felt underwhelmed but having seen it again, it was ok. I am not a fan of the galaxy plus galaxy 2 games as they look like straight ports. That said the RE announcement signals a shift in 3rd party support which I hope will become more of a regular occurrence. Really disappointed we didn't get a 3D Mario game as I think both Smash and Zelda will not happen for some time, but I think I can cope with this lineup till the second half of 2026

Smash Ultimate was a huge deal for the Switch, and I'm sure they want him to feel refreshed for the next one. Plus, I think Kirby and the Forgotten Land did really well.

Kirby and Forgotten Land sold like 7m so, it's at least B+. And other games have sold 3-5 million so. I think saleswise it's probably bigger than Metroid.

Air Ride was a game that had a lot of potential, but was marred by a wonky development process. This was before Melee, and Sakurai I guess didn't have the pull he does now.

If for argument's sake I agree it's a B tier franchise, that doesn't mean it always will be. A lot of franchises started as kind of small, but then blew up. For example, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and you can make an argument for Zelda. So, maybe they think this can be that breakout moment for Kirby.

Besides, it seems like this is the sort of thing Sakurai likes doing, and it's not like it would cost that much, so why not just let him get a camera and ramble for a little bit.

Yeah, not debating that. Point I was making is that sometimes on entry in a series can cause a dramatic increase in popularity.

Hard to choose just one

Fire Emblem + Super Mario Galaxy Duology + Yoshi are my top 3 (in no particular order)

Why did they show the new Metroid Prime 4 trailer without an announcement or even a narration? Does Nintendo not care about Prime 4?
