How does this age verification get triggered? I haven't seen it anywhere yet.

Is it maybe because my email address is from the 90s. Or do they have everything on me already.... More likely cause I don't play online lol.

Anyway I'm not turning any webcam on for age verification nonsense or send in ID to play a video game. Bigger question for me is, can you play it off-line. If always online required then pass.

There apparently is ID verification coded for GTA 6. So far, it hasn't been implemented, but still.

It would be bitterly ironic if it came to pass. Jack Thompson would finally get the victory he sought 20 years ago.

No.

I probably wouldn't buy it either way but if say the next Smash game used age verification I'd probably grumble and do it.

I find it off putting to say it mildly.... and would likely just not get the game then.

The only way I would end up with GTA6 if they paid me $100 and a free blowjob from Summer Hart.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Zero percent chance I am giving out a copy of my ID and a face scan to play a game. If this becomes common place, I guess I will be Nintendo only.

Its mainly in republican states in the US and (not 100% sure on this but) UK I guess?

As far as I know its only on porn sites at this moment, basically asks you to submit (upload) an ID to verify before being able to go into the site, without it, it blocks you so what people have been doing is using VPN to bypass this (which ironically is the reason why VPN sales/consumption have gone up lol).

In the US, hopefully this crap remains confined to Evangelical Land and doesn't infect the rest of the country. With the way video games are scapegoated (Kennedy is on that kick now), there's a non-zero chance the porn law ID verification will be extended to video games. What PornHub has done in evangelical states is to simply block any IPs from those states rather than deal with ID verification.

I thought Australia also had an online ID verification law.
