Anyway I'm not turning any webcam on for age verification nonsense or send in ID to play a video game. Bigger question for me is, can you play it off-line. If always online required then pass.

Its mainly in republican states in the US and (not 100% sure on this but) UK I guess? 

As far as I know its only on porn sites at this moment, basically asks you to submit (upload) an ID to verify before being able to go into the site, without it, it blocks you so what people have been doing is using VPN to bypass this (which ironically is the reason why VPN sales/consumption have gone up lol).
