Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Nintendo built a lot of goodwill with Switch, so I'm not overly surprised.

Worldwide? It should be near 18-21mil by the end of this calendar year (5.4mil Q2 + 4.1mil Q3 + 8.5-11.5mil Q4). For reference, Switch 1’s weakest holiday (pre-2023) was 7.23mil in 2017. Switch 2 should easily clear that, assuming supply is good and nothing crazy happens with pricing.
The Switch was coming off Wii-U. The Switch 2 is coming off the Switch 1. I suspect that is the likely cause.

There was one Silver lining for the Switch though. It could fully reuse the Wij U is library. The Switch will not have that luxury.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Very good point. But with the way the industry is trending, who knows? lol

I’m not so certain about that, we already have a couple examples of updated ports with added content like Mario Party Jamboree+Jamboree TV & Kirby Forgotten World+Star Crossed World. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more of these over the next few years to help fill out the lineup between new, major releases.
