[Weekly Software & Hardware Sales] "Mario Kart World" tops the charts for the eighth consecutive week! The Switch 2 versions of "Super Mario Party Jamboree," "Akira: Utsuronohane," and "Utakata no Yuchronia -trail-" also performed well [July 21st - July 27th]

Famitsu's sales rankings. This time we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from July 21st to July 27th, 2025 in Japan.

Mario Kart World, now in its eighth week since its release, continues to perform well. This week it sold 76,224 units, making it the top seller for the eighth week in a row.

Coming in second place is Donkey Kong Country: Bananza, which also remains in the same position as last week. The exhilarating action of destroying everything with superhuman strength has seen it sell a respectable 53,951 units.

Amidst all this three titles that are making their first appearance this week entered the top 10. Looking at the rankings in order, third place goes to Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, an upgraded version of the currently available Super Mario Party Jamboree that adds new gameplay features unique to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Super Mario Party Jamboree also made it into 10th place meaning that different versions of the same title are now both in the top 10.

Coming in fourth is Ming Dynasty: Utsuronohane, a new Souls-like action RPG set in ancient China where a mysterious disease is rampant. Coming in sixth is Utakata no Eukronia -trail-, a sequel to a girls game released in April 2024. Both titles are off to a strong start.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Back under 100k again but still a good week for the Switch 2. I wonder how long it'll be till the next 100k week and this is already the first week with all of the top 3 games being Switch 2 ones. For the Switch 1 that didn't happen till about 3.5 months after launch so that happening in about half the time for the SW2 is a good sign.

Pretty good hold for Switch 2 and Switch 1 actually went up again, nice.

PS5 and Xbox also went up, but their numbers are still pretty darn low...

Switch 1 remaining admirably alive considering its replacement is on shelves.

Fairly quiet week; DK at least didn't drop that hard, possibly indicated good word of mouth.

Heh DK remain fairly high for a second week drop.
Also, MKW being on its 8th week streak at the top. How many weeks is the record holder, AC Horizons ?
