Yes, exactly this post but this thread wouldn't load if you were to link every video. Also, everyone forgets about the manned mission :(. It's the first that comes to mind for me, it was brutely scarring imagining those men when I was a toddler.

Which one? Apollo 1, Challenger, or Columbia? Otherwise, are you in your 20s, your 40s, or your 60s? 😁

I shouldn't kid, these were all fairly disastrous events that, aside from the deaths of those involved, potentially damaged Western civilization's drive for space exploration because we value human life so deeply (or at least, used to). So, quite scarring to the psyche of those invested, and/or following.

That's fucking creepily strange, I specifically remember a space shuttle disaster in 1997. I remember Colombia very well and it's not that, everyone was making that joke NASA stands for Need Another Seven Astronauts and I was well into secondary school. Wtf am I remembering cause I wasn't around for the 1986 one. This is so engrained into my memory it's unsettling that it didn't happen.

You just know there was some big huge spider up in those engines and it caught flames and exploded causing a chain reaction.

A few months before the launch they were having problems with the local wildlife actually; some cockatoos were chewing the wiring:
