*yawn

Can't really understand this stance. This direct had two completely new HD2D games that are looking great, Final Fantasy Tactics and a new Monster Hunter Stories. This was pretty good in my books. Bogged down by EA and Ubisoft though, these were really yawn-inducing.

I just didn't find it all that exciting and somewhat predictable/expected.

Since the original Octopath it's not surprising more HD2D by Square would eventually come, but I suppose any big fan would've enjoyed the announcement, FF Tactics was already announced on other platforms so this isn't a surprise, and another MH...there's always another MH. And then majority of the other games shown was just Nintendo catching-up with 3rd party games like they have been recently.

If you enjoyed it then that's great at least and their line up this Showcase has worked.  Personally, nothing shown today has made me want to pick up the Switch 2.  I'll stick with my Switch and work on my backlogs in the meantime.

Fair enough. What would've made you excited if I may ask?

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Doesn’t look like I missed anything.

Disheartening to see as more info is coming out just how many of the games are Key Cards.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac and Monster Hunter Stories 3 were the big highlights for me!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I got a new Katamari game and I guess an updated Plants vs Zombies game. I’m set.

That Partner Showcase was weak. Switch 2 software growing pains are real. Slowly and steadily it is building up its library though. It would be nice if they told us whether physical versions of games were on the cart or game key cards in the release date announcements.

Ideally some 3rd party exclusives that could push the Switch 2 hardware.  But also something that I would have not expected but has players been wanting.

Since this is a Partner showcase, a remake or HD2D of Chrono Trigger and/or FF6 would be more enticing and unexpected than another Octopath. FF9 remake would be a winner for sure. I know Capcom supports Nintendo well with MH but what would really win me is Resident Evil Outbreak, remake or even a new one but this spin-off series is stuck on PS2 sadly; and since the Duskbloods being a multiplayer game maybe Nintendo should look to up their online presences. New Megaman X/Zero would be a nice touch. Since Konami remaking MGS3, how about remaking MGS Twin Snake that was on GC, or bringing back the original Metal Gear 1 & 2 as some sort of remake/2DHD. Not MGS1 & 2, though I wouldn't be surprised if those are already in the works.

Like, while the presentation is happening? That would be weird lol

I'm honestly not even sure if it's necessary with this Direct. As more info is coming out, it looks like they're all game key cards.

Looks like Capcom, Square, Bandai and Koei Tecmo got their Switch2 dev kids the earliest. They all had new games.

We knew about Hyrule warriors, but 2 HD-2D games, new Pacman remake and Monster Hunter Stories are World Premieres.

Adventures of Elliot, besides SE continuing with bland/wierd names for their games, was the star for me. Looks like a Zelda in HD2D style.

I noticed a lot of the announcements had "Physical/Digital" on the bottom of the screen. They could specify game key card or not on the same graphic.
