I think I'll wait till it gets patched
Curious if MP4 will beat this meta or not. It’s been kinda underwhelming from what we’ve seen, but then again the reveal of this was a little underwhelming too: I have a hard time believing Retro has spent all this time to not make a game that’s at least second in line behind the original MP.

Apparently there's one surprise in particular that further incentivizes buying the game.

I played it yesterday for about an hour - Controlling DK is like a charm. He's very responsive and notre too floaty, not too weighty.
It'll be a get after my working hours at least. Will be fun to cap off the week like this under the torrential rain we have today

After the heat wave I've been in for the past week or so, I would kill a monkey for torrential rain.
But yeah, I'm picking up the game in about an hour and I'm very excited.
I like it when my mom goes out of town because I get to sleep on her side of the bed. -William Montgomery

I mean it was all heat and humidity before yesterday's weather as well.
Thankfully, that has finally changed today !
Btb, I finally got the time to play the first layer of the game and my first impressions are :
- Seeing the game being this smooth even with all the destruction and action is quite a joy with DK at the helm. (Strong rumble really emphasizes that feeling)But I'd say he surprisingly feels more loose/slippery than I initially thought he would be. Moveset wise, his moves settled in pretty easily.
- The mines and Baboon town were a first delight quite perfect for the introduction since it emphasized heavily the basics of the moveset.
- Nothing except for Odd Rock's introduction has really sunk so far in the story. Need to see more of VoidCo.
- Lagoon Layer is an immediate step up exploration wise, love the overall colors there and the collecting aspect of fossils, gold and junk.
Anywoo, strong first impressions !

I think the highlight is the movement and control and how the destructibility augments that than the novelty of being able to destroy everything itself.
There also a great sense of style with the audio and visuals. This has grabbed me much faster than Odyssey and I ended up really liking Odyssey.
