I'll try both, but probably 1st person, since I really enjoyed RE7.

First-person.

I don't trust that both modes can be equally accommodated by game design choices. They have very different philosophies in terms of object placement, size, etc. so TP will probably suffer, even if to a lesser extent than Village's.

I have all of the Resident Evil games on Switch, Playstation, Xbox and PC.

Gonna do the same for RE9. 

If there's a choice on how you can play it, I'm gonna choose different ways on different platforms.

For an example I have Dragon Quest XI on Switch, Playstation, Xbox and PC.

Gonna play DQ11 on 2D Mode on Switch and Xbox while on Playstation and Steam I'll be playing it in 3D mode.

RE7 and 8 were designed for first-person, which is why it took effort to implement a third-person option later as DLC.

That might be why first person felt suitable for those games.
If 9 isn't developed specifically for first person, then perhaps it won't feel as natural in that game.

I'll try both and go with whatever feels best.

Third Person on TV/monitor. First Person with VR headset.

3rd person. I can't stand the 1st person perspective.

First person, but I'll only play it if it comes to VR.

3rd person is always annoying with someone walking in front of the camera!

I don't think they announced VR mode (yet) but maybe they'll add it in afterwards like RE8 worst case.
