Forums - Gaming - Are you mainly a ________ gamer? (Poll)

I am mainly (50% and above timeshare) a...

Nintendo gamer 25 32.05%

Sony Gamer 15 19.23%

Xbox gamer 7 8.97%

Steam/PC gamer 28 35.90%

Mobile phone gamer 2 2.56%

VR gamer 1 1.28%

Total:78

Are you mainly a Nintendo gamer, Sony, MS, Steam/PC, mobile or PC gamer?

Bonus question, what's your time share. I'm 90% a Sony gamer, 5% Nintendo and 3% Mobile phone, 2% Wanker, roughly since January. 90% Sony, 10% Nintendo in 2024. Maybe a little more on Switch but I can't count the hours spent checking my wishlist for sales.

In the past I've been mainly PC and Sony leaning back and forth with them dependant on releases from '96 to late '08, Nintendo would get 20-30% of a year every now and then when they had good consoles out, a NES hand me down, N64 and Wii and for about three years between 2009-2013 the Xbox 360 Elite became my main system along with PC and Laptop gaming after two of my PS3's got the red light of death. I just moved mainly to PS4 in 2014 and haven't looked back. Had my entire physical PS3 and 360 library lost in an apartment move. Played the Switch in bouts when I bought it and have been sucked into games on there every now and then over the years when they bless with a sale but I only dust it off now to check the price of Bayonetta 3 which I very much doubt I will like in the current year. Now I am maining PS5 almost exclusively and don't intend to change, it has everything I need and everything is nice and simple. I would be complete with a PS portal but at 150mbps with dips to 50 now and them, I don't know if the streaming would work smoothly.

Do girl gamers have their own platform to play games on or something?

I'm primarily a Steam/PC gamer though. My biggest library is on Steam while about a quarter of my overall library being on GOG and lesser so on Battle.net, but that's because of it primarily being a Blizzard storefront.

But that doesn't include my emulation collection. I've got Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, PSP, Dreamcast, GB/GBC/GBA, N64, GameCube, and an Arcade collection of ROMs and peripherals. Got a 5TB SSD hooked up to my PC and this collection takes up over half of that storage currently lol.

I'd say I split the time between PC at 75% with 20% on Nintendo, and 5% on Sony.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Right now I'm

50% Playstation
40% PC
10% Switch

Used to use Switch a lot until 2021, but if fell of a cliff since then

2023 and 2024 I was like 90% Playstation

But I recently built a gaming PC, so now my playtime is divided

Retro. All.

Yeah, not letting “girl gamer” be an option since it has nothing to do with the actual topic.

Primarily computer gamer, with PC just being computer gaming platform that took over the lead in early 90s as dominant platform. Not sure about %, it's mostly PC, I guess some 70% (including retro games), 20% Quest and the rest 10% is Switch and Wii (yeah, still playing that).

Ah, I was just joking. I'll change it to "other" in a bit.

100% console gamer

Nintendo 80% // PlayStation 20%

Nintendo 70% and Sony 30% when it comes to current era gaming. I also play retro games on several systems.
