So last week wasn't another week 11 then. I wonder if the first sub 20k one will be in May or June and man the PS5 declined again. At this rate it probably won't reach 1m for the whole year which I did not see coming.

It's pretty early to call a new baseline. Remember that weeks 12 and 13 were both 30k but now it's already down to 25k. The trend has been a mostly steady decline since the announcement of the Switch 2 and it's still several weeks till that comes out with marketing for it only going into high gear three weeks ago. It could be months still till sales of it stabilizes.

For Switch it seems likely that sales will continue to go down, wouldn't surprise me if it even goes lower than 10K the closer we get to Switch 2 launch in June. PS5 will likely continue to hoover around current figures except for some promotion deals or holiday periods.

In hindsight it seems Nintendo's decision to launch a region locked cheaper Switch 2 in Japan mostly checkmates PS5 in Japan the rest of its lifetime, if they would have gone the Sony route and launched the Switch 2 for like 75K yen in Japan it likely wouldn't have the same insane demand as it now has.

Lowest week for Xbox Series so far...

I think the writing has been on the wall for a while now that it would struggle to hit 9m, but yeah it looks particularly grisly for PS5 right now with Switch 2 not even released yet, price drops not happening and nothing left on the menu that will increase sales for the console.  The Switch is a bit lower too than I expected though; Switch 2 can't come soon enough for this region.

I do believe that PS5 will cross 8m in the end but I think it will finish on the lower end of that.

I wish Nintendo would release a new Switch Lite model with dock compatibility at the same price. Then, they could discontinue the original Switch and OLED models, as people would likely choose the Switch 2 over the OLED version.

Considering the recent news over the pre-order requests on My Nintendo Store alone over there ... I do not want to imagine the total tally of pre orders request for it's launch 😂

Jeez, PS5 not looking healthy at all, down more than 60% from this week last year.
Xbox pretty much dead.

Next month and a half should be slow going until the Switch 2 hits and revitalizes the Japanese market.
