Forums - Nintendo - FAST Fusion first look; sequel to FAST RMX, releasing on Switch launch day

Shin'en have posted a first look of their upcoming racing game FAST Fusion, which will release exclusively on Switch 2 as a launch title.

For those who aren't familiar with the series, it's basically F-Zero meets Ikaruga, a high speed anti-grav racer where you switch the "phase" of your craft to match boost strips and jump pads.

Nintendolife has also published an interview with the developer, sharing some key tibdits of info:

- In the new game, you "fuse" different craft to create new ones; there are hundreds of combinations.

- You can now initiate "hyperjumps" to cut corners, leapfrog opponents, etc.

- Supports up to 4 player splitscreen at 60fps

- Game Share and Game Chat are supported

- File size is 3.7GB

These games are great. Insane to think 5 people make it.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Day one purchase for me. Fast RMX was one of my first Switch games.

Switch 2 launch continues to be stacked.
Unless you only cared about Breath of the Wild, Switch 2's launch is looking a lot better than Switch because of the third-party support (which has been nurtured by Switch's gargantuan success).

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

Shin'en put so much effort into their games. Their games look awesome AND have a small storage size. They already hit 1080p60 on Wii U with FAST Racing Neo.

Now they are able to offer 4 player split screen with 60fps. It's getting embarrassing for Nintendo, when Mario Kart World only has 30fps (again) in 4 player split screen.

FAST Racing Neo was 720p60 on Wii U.

Huge upgrades with the detailed environments there. Looks much more expressive than Fast RMX which was already a marvel on the WiiU/Switch back then.

Looking at the file size makes it all the better.

Honestly, this is the kind of work that makes me wanna buy their games even if it's not exactly my cup of tea.

Oh wow, I didn't release the Switch predecessor (I only have the Wii U installment) was a launch title for Switch. I still stand by that Switch was a quieter launch day and month than Switch 2.
And great news on the price.
