Nah, I prefer the PS ecosystem and prefer to "own" my games or at least have them solidly in my library. Idk what it is but games on PS extra feel less sticky even when they are really good, very few I finish. Having that investment in a game causes me to feel more attached for some reason and more likely to complete the games I own even if they were on sale, the bigger the sale though the less psychological attachment. Dave the Diver, High on life and Rachet and Clank are the only games I have finished on PS extra and I'll probably buy Dave the Diver at some point, I intend to drop this service cause it is ass for one very simple reason...

Would it be nice to have gotten this and Oblivion for 15 euro, yeah but then I can't sidelined Oblivion like I'm doing now and I'd have to by another month's when I intend to play it and then another month when another title comes out and basically I have another subscription service I don't need. I have the peace of mind that Oblivion is there on my console or in my library if I delete it and that feels way better than having the prospect that one day I'll decide to play it in a year as a hyperbolic time (prop a month or two before I get to it) and it won't be there.

I do every now and then just to 'catch up' on games not available on PC or PS or don't want to spend the money on. I'm buying Clair, got it for £35 anyway. Spent more nearly half that on coffee this month. :P

Hmm, pie.

I had expected reviewers to be kind to this game but not so much. Must be some really good stuff even it drops another point or two.

If it has good WoM at least that will help it after being fucked up by Oblivion's shadow drop.

WoM?

Word of Mouth but I think hype on the game has been far above the studios expectations from the off. https://gamerant.com/clair-obscur-expedition-33-collectors-edition-sold-out/

And being so inexpensive will help, PS+ users are getting the game for 44,99 and it's 49,99 max. That price point is even lower than AA games, hell some indies these days are exceeding 30 euro, the ones that think they are big shots like Void Bastards but the quality of their game has the budget of a nice meal at a fancy restaurant. This game looks so very much AAA more so than any other AA game I've seen including A Plague Tale which was able to achieve what it did with a short, linear run time and basic mechanics. This looks like it has depth, maybe not so much as an Atlus game but it would make you think why Atlus games and others are pricing themselves the same as AAA. They should be pricing at the JRPG scenes usual 59,99 or lower.

From Fextra life...

"Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is a once in a generation title that transcends gaming, and approaches a work of art."

Wow, much better reception than I thought

I feel bad for the people playing Oblivion who are going to miss this cause the buzz of the highest rated game of the year is overshadowed by a game from 2006. Oblivion is not exactly a 92 in this day and age.

Any turn based RPG with 90+ is a instant play for me

I'll check it when I finish Hitman

Looks like an easy plat too, 8% of reviewers and Influencers already have the platinum. Gotta wonder though, only 33% of them actually beat the game... could this ilbe another Metaphor where they play the first 20 hiurs and assume the rest of the game is the same and it falls apart into mediocrity in large sections of the game... I hope not.

I'm intrigued and I'm probably going to buy this game, but there's something about it that I'm not completely sold on yet. But I don't want to see too much of it beforehand, either. I guess I'll just have to trust it.
