Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo confirms no download codes needed for physical Switch 2 Edition games

I wonder if these will be counted by Nintendo as shipments for BOTW/TOTK/whatever on Switch 1, or counted as Switch 2 software.

I would guess that these would count towards Switch 1 software shipments?

They will be counted as Switch 2 software because they are Switch 2 games. There's no reason to expect otherwise.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Cof Cof... Square Enix

Do I understand this right, that Square Enix can't afford a 12GB/16GB game card, while CD Projekt Red uses a 64GB game card for Cyberpunk?

I guess that publisher prefer a Game-Key-Card if they're not convinced about the success of their game and/or to lower the price of the physical copy.

Weird stuff considering this would run on switch (1) but isn't aswell.

Do they run on a Switch 1? If not, then they shouldn't.

Good.

It was known from the begining, but to the haters and retards was a talking point to try to F**** the launch of Switch 2, thats all; "drop the pice" etc. everything is for that reason.

With the new AI game confirmed to be a Game Key Card for Switch 2 and has a Switch physical, I wanna know how much more expensive are these Switch 2 carts compared to Switch carts. I know the Switch 2 carts cost more because of the better read/write speeds, but how much are these carts?

"Alternatively, some publishers may release Switch 2 Edition games as download codes..."

Digital is the future. All we can do is wait and enjoy physical while we can.

I like both but don't like that physical seems to get shafted more and more as time goes on.

To me the words on the cover was clear as day, but I was getting attacked by crazy Nintendo fans saying I was wrong, hence why I asked the question last week to the logical minds on this forum who agreed with me lol.

The fact this needed clarity is mind blowing. To me if it was a switch 1 cart and download code, they would have used those exact words.

They really shouldn't have put that disclaimer on the Switch 2 Editions. It made it confusing when it should be straightforward.
