Backwards compatibility is the biggest decider for me on whether or not I'll keep a previous gen console. Thankfully, I've confirmed my entire Switch library is back compat, so my Switch 1 will be traded in.

You'd wanna make sure upgrade packs aren't going to cost you in the long run first.

No plans for my Switch 1.
Probably storage for the time being, since I’ll be moving my main account to Switch 2.

GameStop will give you up to $90 credit for a standard switch! That means you can get one game and have $10 left!

Gamestop

GameStop really do suck don't they lol. CeX give a minimum of £120 here.

lol. Also, (so that my comment stays on topic…) I will be keeping my NSWOLED.

Switch 1 games are not played natively on the Switch 2.

What do you mean? It’s like paying for upgrading from a PS4 to PS5 version. Thankfully I only have 1 game that even has an upgrade pack at all though. So it won’t cost me too much overall.

Yeah they’re using a compatibility layer like what Valve uses on Steam Deck to get Windows only games running on Linux. Only a handful of Switch 1 games currently have issues playing on Switch 2. So not a big deal at all.

Keeping my Switch Oled for my Switch games that I don't want to pay for an upgrade along with needing it for my micro SD card and was never going to use a standard micro SD card over an express card in Switch 2. Good to know my Switch Pro controller will be usable on both platforms as well.

Ah that's decent enough if they are doing free upgrades also, I was under the impression they were charging 20 euro for upgrades.

Ps5 upgrades for me were mostly free apart from Death Steanding, Ghost of Tsushima and GT7 which I have no intent on playing again at any rate. I got like 25 free upgrades, some with really significant changes like TW3 and Cyberpunk.

I will keep it, but for collections sake. I won't be playing it.

There's only 5 known games that require payment as of now.

About double of that is free including Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Super Mario Odyssey
