This is some old news, and maybe a lot of people won't be interested, but... Man, I have to spread the word. This is a very special announcement for me.

So, two SEGA Saturn games are being re-released on May 29th. Steam Hearts and Advanced V.G. If you have a Nintendo Switch or a Playstation 5, you will be able to get the physical version if you want. If still on PS4, or on Xbox and Steam, the game will be available for download only.

Advanced V.G. is part of the Variable Geo series, which started as an 18+ game on PC back in the 90s, but it evolved to a fighting series on consoles like PS1, Saturn, and SNES. And to be honest, it's one of my favorite games. It's just too bad that it's not Advanced V.G. 2, which is an upgrade on about every aspect, but OK, we understand it.

Steam Hearts... Well, I never played it, but it looks like an action shoot'em up game, also released on Saturn. Like I said, I never played it, but since it will come with V.G., I will certainly try it.

It seems like Steam Hearts was an adult game (Advanced V.G. is not), so yeah, you probably can expect it to be heavily censored if that's the case. Honestly, I don't care. Just make sure to release it on Steam, and I will pay whatever the price.

Man, what the freaking heck! I wasn't expecting that, but I need more good surprises like that in my gaming life. Now fingers crossed for the future of the Variable Geo franchise!

Theres been several Saturn games collections released on the Switch I believe. Some shmups at least.

Unfortunately, no english audio or subtitles, only menus. Advanced V.G. will have new features such as save/load states and rewind function. Steam Hearts will have mature content. Variable Geo will have only "mild" stuff.

If I remember well, the compilation will have a "CERO C" rating on consoles, so they will probably tune down some things.

Steam Hearts is TERRIBLE and just a porn game with a bad shmup between henteai cutscenes. I love the S Tribute games in general but Steam Hearts and Metal Black should have been left behind. I wish we would get Hyper Duel instead. That is an amazing game.

SKIP STEAM HEARTS AT ALL COSTS! IT IS ROTTEN!

CITY CONNECTION is amazing doing these ports/remasters (along with a handful of others which I own).

I don't like hentai, so I may skip it if that's the case. Good think you can get Advanced V.G. by itself on Steam.

Was the game uncensored on Saturn?

I think it might have had some changes on Saturn, but that didn't stop the game itself from being poor. It's just a bad shmup, and I love the genre, but it's just not a good game. I despised it, and I think even when it was originally released, it was poorly received. My guess as to why they are releasing this is that Saturn copies go for hundreds, and this is a legal, cheap option. Goes to show that just because a game is rare doesn't make it good. Caladrius Blaze doesn't have porn but has dumb sexualized anime bullshit but the game is good. That's a more modern game. Just that if someone really needs anime girls getting almost naked and like shmups that one plays well.  Steam Hearts was full on anime lesbian porn.

City Connection has done good work. Recently they put out S Tribute Wolf Fang which is an amazing game but with it came a bad game in Skull Fang. Metal Black is also terrible. As is Steam Hearts so 3 bad shmups. Tho they also did some good ones. No experience with the fightng game.

I am very happy to see that the Saturn is finally getting it's much deserved love.
