My least favorite was Doom (Classic) - the first two episodes were great but the third episode and extra episode just felt like a chore going back and forth finding keys to unlock doors and stuff. Grand Theft Auto V is my favorite so far - love the story, cast and overall gameplay and structure of the missions. As for FFVII Remake - I was out of the country for about a month so I didnt have access to my gaming desktop which is why you see in my list the large amount of games I beat were Switch because I had my Switch with me. In the past 3 weeks I've been busy catching up to taking care of stuff at home (taxes, bills, home maintenances, car maintenance, etc so I havent been at home for most of the time in the weekends and I work from 7am to 7pm on Mon-Fri. I'm really busy having to do with a lot of stuff - to the point I actually have a calendar and notifications (reminder app on iPhone) to keep up with all sorts of tasks lol I try to pour in at least one hour of gaming at home and one hour at work (During break). For the weekends and holidays, I try to put in 2-3 hours but the last few weeks been busy). So hoping I'll get more free time. Right now I'm on chapter 8 in FFVII Remake - and I got to that chapter back in January 26 or 27th which was the last time I played FFVII Remake until last night (Mar 18) - so almost a good two months since I have played it. Final Fantasy is my most favorite IP so I wont drop it and I got a huge list of games I'm planning to play from the series -Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion (PC) and a few others such as |
Cool. Just wanted to let ya know that it is worth getting to Rebirth even though that game has some flaws too. Remake is a 7 but Rebirth is a strong 9.
And I know the feeling. The b8liggest enemy is sitting down to play something and it feels too exhausting and you end up doing nothing cause games feel like this higantic task. I get around this now by telling myself I'll only play for 15 minutes and usually that 15 minutes turns into a longer session.
Have your phone record your usage and see if you can save time there by removing the phone from the equation. I was shocked by how much time was on my weekly breakdowns. You got absolutely nothing from scrolling social media so replacing that time with a hobby makes way more sense. I'm able to keep at 23 hours per week now up from 18.5 in 2024 and 12.5 in 2023 so I'm still learning time management but I have made such a massive difference although now it is the only hobby I'm engaging with aside from a few minutes a week on the guitar and the odd TV show or film but very rarely.
Last edited by LegitHyperbole - on 19 March 2025I only spent like 70hrs ish for DQ3 and God of War Raganarok and that took me until mid march almost. Done a few hours in Donkey Kong and the Immortal Pillars DLC for Age of Mythology last week.

Oh I know that - especially after a long day lol
I'm trying to be better at time management too - I do record my playtime hours (I see it as a fun thing) as well.

Nice. Can't believe you left GTA5 for so long. Still plays like a modern game right and could easily be mistaken for one. Have you done RDR2?

Yeah....there's a lot of games I missed out on but only getting into them now.
GTA5 was amazing. I have it on PC and Xbox along with PS4 but I upgraded to the PS5 version and played that. Best game in the series so far and this is after loving both Vice City and San Andreas for so long.
One of the reasons why I didnt immediately get into GTA5 was because of GTA4 which I played about over 10 years ago - soured my views on the series since I didnt enjoy the gameplay or story as much as VC or SA.
But GTA5 was just amazing.
As for Red Dead Redemption 2 - I havent played it yet but have it on Steam.
I played the first one on PS3 about 5 or so years ago - great game too. Still need to play Red Dead Revolver which I have on PS4.

Red dead Rebolver is pretty weak tbh, even back in the day it was weak but it's nothing like RDR 1 & 2. You're in for a wild ride with RDR2 and even though it's not been updated it still feels like it could have released yesterday as a game with zero issues. Main thing to do in that game is to take it slow and pace yourself or you could ruin the game, a B line to the end while still great is not the Masterpiece part of the game, do all the side stuff as they become available and stop to take in the scenery once and a while. Don't do mission after mission cause it's very long.
My most-played games this year were FF4 and FF6, probably followed by Tekken 8. Also got back into Virtua Fighter 5 after the 2.0 and REVO updates.
My stats are abysmal this year. By the time I can sit down and play something on my own it's too late / too tired.
I played 20 minutes of GT7 a couple days ago, found out I was too late to get the new cars from the last update (already rotated out of the legendary car dealer ship, wait 3 months for it to return ffs)
I played Exocars in 20-30 minute sessions before that, short game anyway.
And twice a week my wife and I manage to play a little PoE2 but that has become rather boring. End game is not suited for couch co-op and the campaign feels very repetitive now, already having done all these maps 3 times.
I stopped buying games for now as I simply don't get to play them anymore :(
How life changes as you get older. The weekend used to be for gaming, now it's for catching up on house work and more importantly sleep :/
VR is also to blame. Flat games are no fun anymore (on my own) and playing VR while tired kinda sucks.
Currenlty beat Kotor 1 2 and Republic Cammando. On my way to killzone 1 on my original ps2
